1. Basic Information Nanchang Vocational University was formerly Jiangxi Daewoo Business College founded in 1993. In April 2003, it was approved by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province and registered by the Ministry of Education as a general higher vocational college, and was renamed Jiangxi Daewoo Vocational and Technical College. In April 2011, it was renamed Nanchang Vocational College. In December 2018, it was upgraded to an undergraduate-level vocational school with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In May 2019, it was renamed Nanchang Vocational University. It is one of the first batch of undergraduate-level vocational education pilot schools in the country. The school covers a total area of more than 1,650 acres. There are currently three campuses: Fenghuang Campus, Xiangzhang Campus (under construction), and Wanli Campus, which are located at No. 8 Qianjin Middle Road, Anyi County, Anyi County Vocational Education City, and No. 200 Cuiyan Road, Wanli District, Nanchang City. The school has 18,520 students, a total building area of 650,000 square meters, a collection of 1.4 million paper books, 1.2 million electronic books, and a total value of 187 million yuan in teaching equipment. A 5G smart campus has been built. There are 1,004 full-time teachers, including 315 with associate senior professional titles or above, 709 teachers with master's degrees or above (87 doctors), and 476 "dual-qualified" teachers. The school connects with modern service industries, advanced manufacturing industries, strategic emerging industries and "Internet +" new formats, and offers 25 vocational education undergraduate majors, 30 higher vocational college majors (directions), and has 45 X certificate pilot qualifications, forming professional groups such as business management, intelligent manufacturing, information technology, artistic creativity, cultural education, and music performance. 2. School characteristics 1. On the base platform, there are 2 training bases supported by the central government, 1 training base accepted by the Ministry of Education's Vocational Education Innovation Action Plan, Jiangxi Provincial "Dual-qualified" Teacher Training Base, Vocational College Teachers "1+X" Certificate Pilot Training Base, 1 Maker Space, 1 Intangible Cultural Heritage Communication Base, 1 Jiangxi Gantai Youth Entrepreneurship Academy, and 1 Nanchang Skilled Talent Training Base. 2. In education, teaching and scientific research, the school won 4 Jiangxi provincial teaching achievement awards, 1 first prize in the 8th "Wuhua Book Award", 1 second prize in the China Logistics and Procurement Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 achievement adopted by the Jiangxi Provincial Government Degree Office, 1 achievement adopted by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, 1 achievement adopted by the National Railway Administration, 2 Jiangxi Provincial advantageous and characteristic majors, 1 high-level professional group construction project, and 3 "Course Ideology and Politics" demonstration courses in Jiangxi universities; the school was approved as a bachelor's degree authorization institution in 2022, and 20 undergraduate majors were approved for bachelor's degree authorization; it won more than 300 provincial and above skill competition awards, including 34 first prizes and 69 second prizes, and 54 people were rated as outstanding instructors. 3. In terms of teacher team building, one person was approved as an innovative leader of Jiangxi Province's "Double Thousand Plan", one of the first 100 outstanding ideological and political teachers in Jiangxi Province, one "good teacher in the hearts of students in the new era" in Jiangxi Province, one May 1st Women's Model in Jiangxi Province, one Nanchang City Skill Master Studio, one Jiangxi Education System Master Studio, one provincial counselor master studio, five vocational college teacher teaching innovation teams, and one person was selected as the first Jiangxi Provincial Education Digitalization Expert. 4. Jiangxi-Taiwan exchanges have demonstrated unique advantages, and have been awarded plaques by the Jiangxi Provincial Taiwan Affairs Office as "Jiangxi-Taiwan Youth Exchange Base", "Jiangxi Gan-Taiwan Youth Entrepreneurship Academy", and "Jiangxi Province Taiwan Exchange Base". 3. School Honors The school has won the honorary titles of National Advanced Social Organization, Jiangxi Province 5A-level social organization, "Excellent" school in the annual inspection of private colleges and universities in the province, Jiangxi Province's high-level vocational colleges and superior specialty construction project units, the province's advanced units of ideological and political work in colleges and universities, the province's advanced comprehensive management work (safe construction), Jiangxi Province's advanced units for enrollment plan management of ordinary colleges and universities, Jiangxi Province's advanced units for conscription work, and Jiangxi Province's excellent level of colleges and universities for graduate employment. 4. Future Outlook With the continuous deepening of the national vocational education reform, the school has entered the fast lane of the national undergraduate vocational education pilot reform and development.
