Founded in 1999, Nanjing Normal University Zhongbei College is jointly organized by the century-old Nanjing Normal University and the Nanjing Normal University Education Development Foundation. It is one of the first independent colleges approved by the Ministry of Education and a public welfare institution approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Public Institution Registration and Administration Bureau. The organizer of the college, Nanjing Normal University, is a national "double first-class" construction university and a high-level university construction university in Jiangsu.
