Nanjing Vocational and Technical College of Transportation is a public full-time general college located in Nanjing, which has a long history and rich cultural heritage and is known as the "Ancient Capital of Six Dynasties" and "Metropolis of Ten Dynasties". The college was founded in 1953. In June 2001, it was independently upgraded to a higher vocational college with the approval of the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. In 2005, it passed the talent training level assessment of higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education with excellent grades. In 2008, it was identified as a model higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province. In 2010, it took the lead in establishing the Jiangsu Transportation Vocational Education Group. In 2021, the vocational education group was approved as a cultivation unit of the Demonstration Vocational Education Group (Alliance) of the Ministry of Education. In 2012, it became a national pilot college for education system reform and a pilot college for comprehensive reform of higher education in Jiangsu Province. In 2016, it became a pilot college for the construction of digital campuses in national vocational colleges. In 2018, it was selected as a high-level higher vocational college construction unit in Jiangsu Province. For a long time, the college has always adhered to the school-running purpose of being based on transportation and serving transportation, keeping up with the development pace of Jiangsu's transportation industry, constantly promoting education and teaching reforms, improving the level of school-running and the quality of talent training, and cultivating more than 80,000 full-time graduates for the industry and society. The school is known as the cradle of "transportation talent growth". The main core indicators and comprehensive strength of the college's operation rank first in the province's higher vocational colleges. Seventy years of moral education have made Jiangsu Transportation the "Huangpu Military Academy". The college covers an area of 568,000 square meters, with a construction area of 314,000 square meters, a total asset value of nearly 1.25 billion yuan, and a total value of 200 million yuan for teaching equipment. At present, there are 10 teaching units, including the School of Automotive Engineering, the School of Road, Bridge and Port Engineering, the School of Transportation Management, the School of Electronic Information Engineering, the School of Rail Transportation, the School of Civil Engineering, the Department of Humanities and Arts, the Basic Teaching Department (International Cooperation and Exchange Office), the School of Marxism, and the Department of Physical Education. The college has provided more than 80,000 high-quality technical and skilled talents for the transportation industry in Jiangsu, and trained more than 1,000 chief engineers and general managers of transportation and civil engineering enterprises. 60% of the provincial highway transportation construction project managers and technical backbones, 60% of the provincial transportation system financial cadres, and 60% of the provincial automobile 4S store senior managers are from our school, providing important support for Jiangsu to build transportation construction brand projects and transportation service brand projects. The school-running strength of the automobile professional group, transportation civil engineering professional group, and transportation management professional group is in the leading position in the country. Implement 14 modern vocational education system pilot projects such as "4+0", "3+2", and "3+3" to open up the talent growth channel of Jiangsu transportation vocational education, and establish a horizontally connected and vertically connected Jiangsu transportation talent training overpass. The college took the lead in establishing the National Intelligent Transportation Equipment Industry-Education Integration Community, Jiangsu Transportation Vocational Education Group, Jiangsu Automobile Vocational Education Alliance, and Nanjing Transportation Higher Vocational Education Consortium, forming a "government-school-enterprise" group school-running paradigm, leading and driving the common development of transportation vocational education in the province. It has established 5 overseas exchange and cooperation platforms, launched 3 international training projects, and built 10 overseas training and exchange bases.
