Nanyang Arts and Crafts Vocational College is a public full-time college-level higher vocational college newly established in January 2023 with the approval of the Henan Provincial People's Government and the filing of the Ministry of Education. The school is located in Zhenping County, Nanyang City, which is known as the "Hometown of Chinese Jade Carving", "Hometown of Chinese Carpets" and "Hometown of Chinese Folk Art". It covers an area of 320 acres and a construction area of 200,000 square meters. There are 396 full-time teachers, including 190 senior teachers and 122 dual-qualified teachers. It is adjacent to Zhaohe Park, a provincial ecological wetland in Zhenping County, and the International Jade City, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. It has developed transportation, picturesque scenery and pleasant environment. In the fall of 2023, the college will first open five specialized majors in gem identification and processing, jade design and crafts, art design, e-commerce, and carving art design. In 2024, there will be 8 new 3-year college majors (music performance, fitness guidance and management, artificial intelligence technology application, big data technology, new energy vehicle technology, intelligent manufacturing equipment technology, elevator engineering technology, emergency rescue technology), and 3 2-year college majors (jade design and technology, big data technology, new energy vehicle technology), and the planned enrollment plan is 3,000 people. Each major has a well-equipped on-campus training base, with various teaching and equipment worth 62 million yuan, a library collection of 170,000 books, more than 240,000 electronic books, and more than 80 kinds of periodicals. The school has always adhered to the socialist direction of running schools, highlighting the concept of "characteristic school running, innovative development", and taking moral education, ability as the priority, and service needs as the purpose of running schools. It is based in Nanyang and serves the economic construction of Henan.
