1. Basic Information The Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy Submarine Academy is a higher education institution in my country that specializes in training talents for naval submarines, disaster prevention and rescue, and new underwater combat forces. It is a key military construction institution. The academy was founded in 1953, started undergraduate education in 1956, began to train master's students in 1987, and began to train doctoral students in 2003. Over the past 70 years, the academy has trained a large number of military command and professional and technical talents for submarines and rescue forces, among which more than 100 students have grown into generals and 4 have grown into admirals. The academy has formed teams to participate in the National Day military parade in the capital for four consecutive times. 2. School Positioning The academy is a higher education institution for arms command, mainly training command officers and sergeants for naval submarines, disaster prevention and rescue, aviation anti-submarine forces and new underwater combat forces. The academy focuses on underwater combat, aims to build a world-class naval academy with distinctive submarine characteristics, and strives to build a talent training base, military theory research base, equipment application technology innovation base, and characteristic cultural gathering and dissemination base in the field of underwater combat. The college has always adhered to the educational concept of "laying the foundation for students' lives and fulfilling their responsibilities for the troops to win", and has formed the school-running concept of "rooting in submarines, leading underwater, integrating command and technology, and educating all staff". The college has always adhered to the moral education and education for war, focusing on combat effectiveness standards, comprehensively tempering students' leadership capabilities, cultivating development potential, and strengthening broad vision, and cultivating high-quality, professional new military talents commensurate with the status of submarine strategic arms, with both moral integrity and ability. 3. Discipline and professional settings The college has a sound talent training system, with a postdoctoral research mobile station, doctoral and master's degree authorization points, and offers undergraduate and junior college education majors and active officer training majors. The college's main advantageous disciplines and characteristic majors are: arms (submarine) tactics, combat command, electronic information engineering, combat simulation, hydroacoustic engineering, navigation technology, underwater battlefield environment, underwater target identification, remote sensing military application, weapon system and engineering, weapon launch engineering, ship and ocean engineering, rescue and salvage engineering, underwater blasting, etc. IV. Faculty The college has a high-level teaching and scientific research faculty and a group of innovative teams and well-known experts in the fields of submarines, defense and rescue, hydroacoustic, anti-submarine, etc., which are well-known both inside and outside the military. More than 85% of the faculty members of the college have doctoral and master's degrees; more than 40% have senior professional and technical positions. Most of the faculty members engaged in submarine combat command and equipment use teaching have experience in submarine forces. Many faculty members of the college have won the National and Military Outstanding Teachers, the Military Talent Training Award and the Seeking Truth Award, and many people enjoy special government subsidies; many teaching and scientific research achievements have won national and military awards; in 2023, Professor Da Lianglong was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. School Conditions The college is located in the beautiful coastal city of Qingdao, on the west foot of Laoshan Scenic Area, to the north of the World Horticultural Exposition Park Scenic Area, and to the south of the Ocean University of China.
