Ningxia Institute of Technology is a private undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. It is located on the shore of Xinghai Lake in Shizuishan City. After 38 years of development, the school has formed a multi-level talent training system that focuses on undergraduate education, taking into account vocational education, adult education and continuing education. It has now become a general undergraduate college with engineering as the main focus and coordinated development of eight disciplines such as economics, management, law, literature, art, education and science. There are 12 secondary colleges (departments) and 3 teaching auxiliary units. There are 51 undergraduate majors. Among them, there are 2 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites; 12 autonomous region first-class undergraduate major construction sites; 2 autonomous region advantageous and characteristic disciplines and key disciplines; 4 autonomous region key construction majors; 6 autonomous region characteristic majors; 5 autonomous region industry-education integration talent training demonstration majors. There are more than 16,000 full-time students, recruiting students from 26 provinces, cities and districts across the country, and the employment rate of fresh graduates ranks among the top universities in the region. The school is a pilot university for "Internet + Education" in the autonomous region. It has been awarded the "National Lei Feng Activity Demonstration Site" and "National Model Greening Unit" by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the National Greening Committee respectively. In 2021, the school was approved to review and add a master's degree-granting institution, and was approved to add master's degree authorization points in electronic information and accounting. President Zhao Hui'e was named a national model worker. The School of Economics and Management, the School of Literature and Art, and the Student Affairs Department were awarded the National May 1st Women's Model Post and the National Women's Civilization Post respectively. The school is one of the first undergraduate universities in the country to propose the goal of cultivating applied talents. It adheres to the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people, cultivates high-quality modern applied technology talents that meet the needs of regional economic and social development, and strives to build an innovative cross-integration talent training model and has achieved fruitful results. 408 undergraduate teaching engineering construction projects have been completed, including 1 National Virtual Teaching and Research Office of the Ministry of Education, 1 New Liberal Arts Research and Reform Practice Project of the Ministry of Education, 1 Huang Danian-style Teacher Team of Autonomous Region Colleges and Universities, 4 first-class grassroots teaching and research offices of the autonomous region, 4 teaching teams at the autonomous region level, 5 Internet + Education Backbone Talent Training Program Projects of the autonomous region, 31 first-class courses of the autonomous region, 1 outstanding talent training project of the autonomous region, 3 innovative experimental areas for talent training models, 1 autonomous region engineering technology research center, 1 autonomous region engineering research center, 3 autonomous region experimental teaching demonstration centers, 3 shared experimental bases, 7 autonomous region-level teaching achievement awards, and more than 115 college student innovation and entrepreneurship projects. The school actively carries out foreign exchanges and cooperation. It has established good inter-school cooperation relations with foreign universities such as Alante International University, University of California, Riverside, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and Josai International University in Japan, and has carried out undergraduate "3+1" joint training, undergraduate and master's degree programs and other projects. Since 2013, the Ministry of Education has approved three well-known universities, Northeastern University, Zhejiang University of Technology and Shaanxi Normal University, to provide counterpart support to Ningxia Institute of Technology. In 2019, our school became the counterpart support university of Xiamen Institute of Technology in the Fujian-Ningxia cooperation. The "2+2" joint undergraduate training program between the school and the counterpart support universities has covered 30 undergraduate majors, and at the same time, it has carried out the "Excellence Class" joint training program with the counterpart support universities. The teachers of the two schools jointly teach on the campus of Ningxia Institute of Technology, and the graduation certificates and degree certificates of the project students are jointly stamped by the two schools for recognition. The school has become a postgraduate social teaching practice base and short-term appointment base for Tsinghua University, Fudan University and Nankai University. The school adheres to the direction of serving national strategies and regional economic development. Relying on the advantages of science and engineering, it actively builds an industry-university-research-innovation cooperation education platform, and cooperates with enterprises in student training, internship training, employment, enterprise training, and part-time teacher team building to achieve the largest range of resource integration. The New Business Double Innovation Experience Center and the New Engineering Industry-Education Integration Center have played an important role in talent training. 117 off-campus practical education bases have been built. The school has successively co-founded the Civil Aviation Modern Industry College with Beijing Guanghui Jintong Education Group, the New Materials Industry College with China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation Pengli (Nanjing) Shaping Technology Co., Ltd., and the Integrated Circuit Intelligent Manufacturing Industry College with Jiangsu Changjing Technology Co., Ltd. In 2023, the Digital Information Modern Industry College of Ningxia Institute of Technology and the Digital Finance Modern Industry College of Ningxia Institute of Technology were both approved as autonomous region-level modern industry colleges. Looking to the future, the school will seize the important opportunities of the country's "Belt and Road" initiative and Ningxia's construction of the Yellow River Basin Ecological Protection and High-quality Development Pilot Zone, continue to build national and autonomous region-level first-class undergraduate majors, and establish Ningxia University of Technology during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, comprehensively enhance the comprehensive school-running strength, and cultivate more application-oriented, skilled, and innovative talents for economic and social development.
