Ningxia Police Officers Vocational College is the only police-related higher vocational college in the autonomous region, and it is also the only "high-quality school" and "double-college" among similar public security colleges in the country. The college was founded in 1980 as the Ningxia Political and Legal Cadre School, and has gone through the Ningxia Judicial School, Ningxia Law School, Ningxia Judicial Police Officer School, and Ningxia Judicial Police Officer Vocational College. In March 2017, the Party Committee and Government of the Autonomous Region decided to transfer the entire Ningxia Judicial Police Officer Vocational College from the Department of Justice to the Public Security Department for management, and renamed it Ningxia Police Officer Vocational College. In the same year, the first batch of public security professional talent recruitment and training tasks in Ningxia were completed. For more than 40 years of hard work, the college has always adhered to the principle of running a school based on politics, clarified the combination of academic education and education and training, and is committed to cultivating high-quality political and legal application-oriented and police practical talents. The school orientation, firmly grasped the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people, and has trained more than 40,000 specialized talents. In 2008, it was identified by 11 ministries and commissions including the Central Political and Legal Commission and the Ministry of Justice as one of the first three pilot judicial colleges for the reform of the national political and legal police recruitment and training system. In 2018, it was identified as a high-quality junior college by the autonomous region. In 2019, the functions of the Police Training Corps of the Public Security Department were transferred to the college, realizing a new integration of public security education and training resources. In 2021, it was successfully approved as a high-level vocational school and professional group construction unit in the autonomous region. The college covers an area of 455 acres, with two teaching sites: the main campus and the west campus (formerly the Police Training Corps of the Public Security Department, now the Ningxia People's Police Practical Training Base). The college has 10 party and government management agencies and 11 teaching and auxiliary institutions. There are 280 faculty and staff, 4,212 students, and 15 majors, 13 of which are judicial and public security state-controlled majors; legal affairs, criminal execution, traffic management, and judicial information technology are four high-level majors in the autonomous region, and 72 on-campus and off-campus experimental training rooms have been built. Enrollment is open to 13 provinces and regions including Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia. The employment rate of graduates is stable at more than 90%. More than 7,000 people are organized to conduct various training for political and legal, public security officers and the society every year. There are currently 275,000 books in the collection and 280 million yuan in fixed assets.
