Ningxia Vocational and Technical College of Wine and Sand Control is a public full-time general higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of the Autonomous Region and reviewed and filed by the Ministry of Education. The college was founded in 1985, covers an area of nearly 2,000 acres, has more than 4,700 students and 179 faculty and staff. The college has five teaching departments: Water Conservancy Engineering Department, Landscape Architecture Department, Wine Engineering Technology Department, Horticultural Engineering Department, and Environmental and Resources Engineering Department. There are 19 higher vocational majors such as winemaking technology, garden engineering technology, and health management, and 6 five-year continuous majors such as water conservancy and hydropower engineering construction and engineering surveying technology. There are two modern industrial colleges, Ningxia Wine and Ningxia Wolfberry. There are China (Ningxia) Modern Grape and Wine Vocational Skills Public Training Center, Grape and Wine Quality Testing Center, Ecological Technology Research and Exhibition Center and 38 professional experimental training rooms. It has signed industry-university-research-training school-enterprise cooperation agreements with 36 enterprises to promote the cultivation of technical and skilled talents and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. In recent years, the college has continued to promote vocational education reform and high-quality development of education and teaching, and the teaching quality and social recognition have continued to improve. It has been successively appointed as the advanced unit of the International Grape and Wine Industry Conference and the 3rd China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo, the Standing Director Unit of the National Agricultural Food Industry Industry-Education Integration Community, the Vice Director Unit of the Northwest Forest and Grass Ecological Protection Industry-Education Integration Community, and the Standing Director Unit of the Fujian-Ningxia Vocational Education Alliance. From 2017 to 2022, it was successively rated as a "Model Unit for Employment of College Graduates in the Whole Region" and a "Typical Case University of School-Enterprise Cooperation" by the Education Department of the Autonomous Region. It won the title of "Model School for Rule of Law in the Whole Region" and "Civilized Campus". In 2022, it was rated as a "Five-Star Party Organization" by the Working Committee of the Autonomous Region's Directly Affiliated Institutions.
