Beifang University for Nationalities is directly under the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and is a comprehensive general college. The school is located in Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, "Sai Shang Jiangnan". It is the only central ministry-level university in my country established in an ethnic minority area. The school was formerly the Northwest Second Nationalities University, which was founded in 1984 and renamed Beifang University for Nationalities in 2008. The school is a doctoral, master's and bachelor's degree authorization unit. The school adheres to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly studies and implements General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thoughts on strengthening and improving ethnic work, important expositions on education and talent work, fully implements the party's ethnic policies and education policies, adheres to the party's overall leadership, adheres to the fundamental task of moral education, adheres to the main line requirements of forging a strong sense of community of the Chinese nation, adheres to stimulating the fundamental driving force of reform and innovation, and adheres to the path of connotative high-quality development, becoming an important base for studying and publicizing the party's ethnic theories and policies, cultivating outstanding cadres and talents of all ethnic groups, and serving and supporting the economic and social development of ethnic regions. It was awarded the National Ethnic Unity and Progress Education Base by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. It was approved as a demonstration school in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region National Unity and Progress Demonstration Zone, the first batch of civilized units, a demonstration school for governing schools according to law, and a demonstration school for forging a strong sense of community of the Chinese nation. Talent cultivation: The school adheres to the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity, educating people for the Party and cultivating talents for the country. It recruits students from 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country. There are currently more than 23,000 doctoral students, master students, and undergraduate (preparatory) students, which is a microcosm of the Chinese nation. Faculty: The school adheres to the principle of the party managing talents, attracts and trains talents at the same time, and strives to build a high-quality talent team with firm political beliefs, good teacher ethics, and strong professional skills. The school currently has nearly 1,500 faculty and staff, 4 academicians, 10 people selected for national talent projects or honorary titles, and more than 200 people selected for provincial and ministerial talent projects and honorary titles; the "Image Processing and Intelligent Computing Teacher Team" was approved as the Huang Danian-style teacher team of national universities, 5 teams were selected into the National Ethnic Affairs Commission Innovation Team Support Plan, 12 teams were selected into the autonomous region's science and technology innovation team, 4 teams were selected into the autonomous region's college Huang Danian-style teacher team, and 4 teams were selected into the autonomous region's talent highland. Scientific research: The school adheres to the concept of "scientific research pursues originality, scientific research promotes teaching, scientific research serves the local area, and scientific research improves the school", conducts scientific research in response to major national needs and local economic and social development, writes papers on the land, and uses the results in practice. It has formed certain characteristics and advantages in theoretical research on forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, research on powder materials and special ceramics, recycling of industrial waste, grape planting and winemaking technology, and the development of border areas and the enrichment of the people and rural revitalization. There is 1 national-local joint engineering research center, 1 demonstration national international science and technology cooperation base; 8 provincial and ministerial key laboratories, 5 provincial and ministerial humanities and social science research bases; 1 provincial technology innovation center, 2 provincial engineering technology centers, 1 provincial industrial design center; 2 national "National Chemical and Mechanical Basic Science Popularization Base" and "Electronic Science and Physics Demonstration Center Science Popularization Base". Cooperation and Exchange: The school adheres to open education and actively carries out domestic and foreign cooperation and exchanges. Hefei University of Technology is a counterpart support university designated by the Ministry of Education. The school has carried out in-depth school-to-school, school-to-local, and school-to-enterprise cooperation with Peking University, Yinchuan Municipal People's Government, Ningxia Sharing Group, etc., to promote mutual promotion and win-win results. The school actively participates in the "Belt and Road" initiative and joins the "Silk Road University Alliance". It has 3 Ministry of Education/National Ethnic Affairs Commission country and regional research centers, and has been approved by the Ministry of Education for 1 Sino-foreign cooperative education project. There are currently international students from 12 countries studying at the school. The school has signed cooperation agreements with more than 80 universities and institutions in more than 30 countries and regions such as the United States, Britain, France, and Malaysia. Innovation and Entrepreneurship: The school has steadily promoted the deep integration of education and teaching with innovation and entrepreneurship, actively carried out "double innovation" education, and implemented the "specialization and innovation integration '5+3' education to create a 'six ones' innovative talent training system". The innovative and entrepreneurial talent training model won the special prize of the autonomous region's teaching achievements.
