Ordos Vocational College (school code: 14248. Formerly Yimeng Normal School, Education College, and Radio and Television University) is a public full-time general higher vocational college established by the Ordos Municipal People's Government, approved by the Autonomous Region People's Government in April 2007 and registered with the Ministry of Education in April 2009. The college is located in Kangbashi District, Ordos City, a national 4A-level tourist city with beautiful environment and pleasant ecology. It covers an area of 1,015 acres, with a planned building area of 260,000 square meters on the campus and a building area of 143,000 square meters in the first phase. The overall planning is grand and natural, and various buildings have their own characteristics. The campus is surrounded by hills and green forests. The pavilions in the courtyard face each other, and the garden roads are crisscrossed. There are birds singing and flowers blooming everywhere, and it is full of vitality. It is a civilized campus in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, a garden-style unit in Ordos City, and an advanced unit for student work and employment in ordinary colleges and universities in the autonomous region. The college currently has 354 regular faculty members and 271 full-time teachers, including 15 senior teachers, 132 associate senior teachers, and 157 teachers with master's degrees or above. There are 4 grassland talents and skill masters of the autonomous region, 12 famous teachers and new teachers of the autonomous region, 4 excellent teaching teams of the autonomous region, and 20 Ordos "grassland talents", Ordos talents, and Ordos young outstanding talents. There are 9 senior technicians, 21 technicians, 44 senior workers, 32 engineers, and "dual-qualified" teachers account for 52.73% of full-time teachers. 40 part-time teachers from enterprises are hired. The college currently has 7 teaching departments, including the Department of Chemical Engineering, the Department of Resource Engineering, the Department of Automation and Information Engineering, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Construction Engineering, the Department of Humanities, and the Basic Department, as well as the Ordos Branch of Inner Mongolia Radio and TV University and 1 National Vocational Skills Appraisal Institute. The college offers 38 majors, including traditional ethnic skills, coal mining technology (automatic mining direction), mechatronics technology, automobile application and maintenance technology, Internet of Things application technology, e-commerce, applied chemical technology, coal deep processing and utilization, and construction engineering technology. Among them, the major of coal deep processing and utilization has passed the national "Central Finance Supports Higher Vocational Schools to Improve Professional Service Industry Capacity Construction Project" acceptance, and the major of mechatronics technology is a vocational education training base construction project supported by the central finance in 2012. The college currently has 4 high-quality courses in the autonomous region and 8 high-quality courses at the college level; there are 6 key college-level majors under construction, 23 high-quality courses, and 4 excellent teaching teams. The college has invested 260 million yuan to build 95 high-starting and high-standard experimental training rooms for chemical engineering, electromechanical, coal, machinery manufacturing and automation, automobile manufacturing and assembly technology, and construction engineering, 92 multimedia classrooms, and a library with more than 220,000 books, more than 370 Chinese paper journals, and 240,000 electronic books. The computer room has 1,000 computers and a 1500-megabit network covers the entire campus. The college has been rated as a "National Workers' Education and Training Demonstration Site", "Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region High-skilled Talent Training Base", "Ordos University Graduate Entrepreneurship Training Base", Ordos High-skilled Talent Training Base, Ordos Construction Industry Personnel Training and Education Base, "Beijing-Mongolia Trade Union Cross-regional Promotion of Employment and Entrepreneurship Training Service Base", and National Vocational College Digital Campus Construction Experimental School by the superior competent department. The college adheres to the school-running philosophy of facing the market, serving development, and promoting employment, and firmly grasps the good opportunities for the development of advantageous industries, characteristic industries, and emerging strategic industries in Ordos and surrounding areas. It has established industry-university-research-school-enterprise cooperation with various enterprises in more than 10 parks such as Ordos Airport Logistics Park, Dalu Industrial Park, Qipanjing Industrial Park, Ordos Equipment Manufacturing Base, and Dalat Economic Development Zone, and has established more than 70 off-campus training bases to build a platform for students' internships, training, and employment. The college attaches great importance to the employment of graduates, and the employment rate of graduates has remained above 95% for three consecutive years. It has cooperated with BOE Group and other companies to hold "BOE Named Class", "Ordos Chemical Technology Named Class", "iSoftStone Class", "Xinao Class", "Ulan International Named Class", "Dane Technology Named Class", and "Tianjin Shengna Technology Named Class", achieving the synchronization of enrollment and recruitment, and internship and employment. The college hired engineering and technical personnel from cooperative enterprises and professional leaders in the school to form a professional construction steering committee to jointly design, implement and evaluate professional construction, curriculum reform, and talent training programs. The level and scale of project establishment, the quality and quantity of scientific research results have been ranked among the top higher vocational colleges in the region for many years. One person was selected into the autonomous region's "New Century 321 Talent Project", one person was selected into the Ordos City "Grassland Talent", two people were hired as Ordos City Science and Technology Consultants, and 17 people were selected into the city's science and technology expert database. The number of science and technology experts accounts for the highest proportion of the education and technology system in Ordos City.
