Panjin Vocational and Technical College is the first comprehensive public higher vocational college named "Vocational and Technical College" in Liaoning Province, established in 1998 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. Its predecessors were the former Panjin Branch of Liaoning TV University, Panjin Normal School and Panjin Teachers College approved by the provincial government. In 2000, Panjin Finance and Trade Workers Secondary Vocational School and Panjin Health School were merged into Panjin Vocational and Technical College. In August 2013, the school moved to the new Liaodong Bay campus and embarked on a new journey of rapid development. The school covers an area of 432 acres, with a construction area of 176,000 square meters and a collection of 674,000 books. There are 10,245 full-time students. The school currently has 547 faculty members, 170 teachers with senior professional titles such as professors and associate professors, and 352 "double-qualified" teachers. The school currently has nine secondary colleges, offering 32 full-time vocational colleges, covering science, engineering, medicine, economics, education, etc. The school is a Liaoning Provincial Vocational Education Reform and Development Demonstration School, a Liaoning Provincial Smart Education Demonstration School, a Liaoning Provincial High-level Characteristic Professional Group Construction Unit, a Liaoning Provincial Modern Apprenticeship Pilot Unit, a Ministry of Education 1+X Certificate Pilot College, and a Liaoning Provincial Vocational College. In November 2021, it successfully joined the “Belt and Road” Health Care Vocational Education Group. In November 2021, the school relied on four professional groups: petrochemical industry, energy equipment intelligent manufacturing, finance and business management, and nursing and health care. It was successfully approved as the project unit of Xingliao Excellent College of Higher Vocational Education in Liaoning Province. Teachers from our school won 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 3 third prizes in the National Vocational College Teacher Teaching Ability Competition; and won 12 first prizes, 22 second prizes, and 11 third prizes in Liaoning Province. . The employment of graduates covers petrochemical industry, equipment manufacturing, medical and health, finance and commerce, modern logistics, preschool education and other industries in Panjin City and Liaoning Province. In the past five years, school teachers have been approved for more than 230 national and provincial scientific research projects, won more than 200 provincial and municipal teaching and research achievement awards and natural science achievement awards, and obtained more than 130 patents.
