Pingliang Vocational and Technical College is a public higher vocational and technical school approved by the Gansu Provincial People's Government in 2016 and registered by the Ministry of Education. Its cultural heritage originated from Liuhu Academy, and it has a history of more than 100 years. In 2021, it was identified as a school for the "Double High Plan" project construction in Gansu Province. In 2022, it was selected as the construction unit of the first Red Culture Study and Travel Demonstration Base for Vocational Education in Gansu Province. In 2022, it ranked 133rd in the China Alumni Association's ranking of 1,468 higher vocational colleges nationwide and 5th in the 29 higher vocational colleges in Gansu Province. The college is taking advantage of the situation and focusing on building a "humanistic vocational college, skill vocational college, safe vocational college, smart vocational college, and double high vocational college", striving to build the college into a higher vocational college with "distinctive characteristics, well-known in the province, and famous in the west" by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan. The college is located in Kongtong District, Pingliang City, Gansu Province. The campus covers an area of 500 acres, with another 100 acres of experimental land. The total building area of the school is 220,000 square meters, with a total investment of nearly 1.2 billion yuan. There are 180 experimental training rooms of various types, and the total value of equipment is 100 million yuan. There are more than 430,000 books and documents of various types. There are 588 faculty and staff, including 492 full-time teachers, 20 professors, 170 associate senior titles, 90 graduate students, and 175 "double-qualified" teachers. The college strives to enhance the adaptability of vocational education.
