Qingdao Engineering Vocational College, referred to as "Qingong Vocational College", was established in 2019 with the approval of the Shandong Provincial People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education on the basis of integrating the resources of Qingdao Vocational Education Public Training Base. It is a full-time public college at the junior college level, implementing a provincial and municipal management system with Qingdao as the main management system. The college is located in Shangma Street, Chengyang District, Qingdao City. It currently covers an area of 509 acres, with a construction area of 258,000 square meters, more than 400 faculty and staff, and more than 9,000 students. The college has four secondary colleges, including the Intelligent Manufacturing College, the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering College, the Marine Finance and Economics College, and the Information Engineering College. The Intelligent Manufacturing Professional Group and the Marine Pharmaceutical Intelligent Manufacturing Professional Group have been successfully established as high-level professional groups in Shandong Province. Relying on regional development, the college has set up 36 majors including pharmaceutical biotechnology, electrical automation technology, big data technology and application, CNC technology, mold design and manufacturing, new energy vehicle technology, mobile communication technology (5G direction), software technology, urban rail transit operation management, industrial network technology, intelligent control technology, and urban rail transit vehicle technology. It has nine modern standard training centers including rail transit, intelligent manufacturing, CNC, molds, electromechanical, machinery, auto repair, welding, and marine biology. Each training center is built according to the standards of the enterprise production workshop, and the total value of the equipment is nearly 120 million yuan. The college is positioned to serve the new and old kinetic energy conversion project in Shandong Province and the development needs of Qingdao’s "fifteen" offensives and twenty-four industrial chains. It focuses on modern manufacturing and strives to create a professional system that can support Qingdao’s industrial modernization process, and is synchronized with Qingdao’s industrial development. Relying on Qingdao’s industrial planning and layout, the goal is to cultivate skilled talents in marine biology and chemical industry, high-end equipment manufacturing, new generation information technology, transportation, and high-end service industries. Relying on existing training equipment, the college deepens the integration of production and education, carries out school-enterprise cooperation in various ways, and jointly trains talents with well-known companies such as Huawei Group, Qingdao Metro Group Co., Ltd., and Qingdao Soft Group. The college is currently the Shandong Provincial Assessment Management Center for Intelligent Manufacturing Production Management and Control, Industrial Robot Application Programming 1+X Certificate, a talent training base for Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges in the field of intelligent manufacturing, a high-level professional group construction unit for higher vocational education in Shandong Province, an employment service base for college students' innovation and entrepreneurship, and a pilot unit for school governance in accordance with the law in Shandong Province. It was awarded the 2021 Provincial School Safety Work Advanced Collective and the 2022 Stability and Security Work Collective Award issued by the Municipal Public Security Bureau. Guided by the idea of "advanced, unique, speed, and vitality", and with the development concept of "advancedness and pioneering", the college practices the school motto of "knowing and doing with moderation, and deliberately seeking work", highlights the characteristics of engineering vocational education, and jointly promotes the "integrated" development with the regional economy. We have clearly defined the educational goals of "demonstration of higher vocational education, Huangpu of engineering, and vocational education undergraduate education", set the goal of educating people to cultivate "people of life, people of economy, people of skills, people of entrepreneurship, and qualified citizens", and created "four-qualified teachers" who are "professional teachers, corporate engineers, student mentors, and entrepreneurial mentors".
