Qiongtai Normal University is a provincial public full-time general undergraduate college organized by the Hainan Provincial People's Government. It is located in Haikou City, the beautiful coconut city of Hainan. The school currently has two campuses, Guilin Yang and Fucheng, covering an area of 1,067 acres. The Fucheng campus is located in the ancient city of Fucheng, with a quiet and elegant campus environment and towering ancient trees, fully capturing the thousand-year cultural heritage of Qiongzhou Prefecture; the Guilin Yang campus is located in the Jiangdong New District of the Free Trade Port. Adjacent to the Dongzhai Port Mangrove Nature Reserve and Yi Meilan International Airport, it not only enjoys the prosperity of a provincial capital city, but also enjoys the tranquility and beauty of a world-class wetland. The school was formerly known as Qiongtai Academy, which was founded in 1705. "Qiongtai" is the alias of Qiongzhou, and also the alias of Qiu Jun, a famous Neo-Confucian official, literary master, and Wuyingdian scholar from Qiong in the Ming Dynasty. It was named after "Qiongtai". The second is ambition, the second is ambition, and the third is ambition. Pi inherits the virtuous people from the past to encourage future students to learn. The school has gone through academies, schools, secondary normal schools, junior colleges, and undergraduate colleges. For more than 300 years, the school has been singing and teaching tirelessly, advocating culture and education, and cultivating talents. During the Academy Period, Qiongtai Academy, as the only government-run school in Qiongzhou, had trained a total of 200 Jinshi and Juren candidates in the past 200 years. It was known as the best place for Qiongzhou students to study, cultivate themselves, and become officials during the imperial examination era. In 1902, Qiongtai Academy was changed to Qiongzhou Prefecture Middle School, and Hainan's new education began. During the democratic revolution, the school was the center of the Qiongya New Culture Movement, the origin of the earliest spread of Marxism in Qiongya, and the fertile ground for the early leaders of the Qiongya Revolution. Among the 13 prefectural committee members of the first Qiongya Congress of the Communist Party of China, Qiongya There are 9 teachers and students in Taiwan. The main leaders of the Qiongya Revolution, Wang Wenming, Yang Shanji, and Feng Ping, General Zhou Shidi of the People's Liberation Army, and Xie Fei, the only woman who participated in the Red Army's Long March in Hainan, all went to Qiongtai. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Qiongtai served as the main base for the training of preschool and primary school teachers in Hainan. It has sent more than 80,000 professionals of various types to the society, and has emerged as one of the "Eight Great Masters of Modern Chinese Grammar in the 20th Century" by academic circles. Xing Fuyi, a famous linguist and former president of the China Society for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, Fan Huiguo, a famous contemporary Chinese mathematician and educator, Liu Zhangwen, a famous Chinese mathematician who has worked with Hua Luogeng, Chen Jingrun and others for a long time, Zeng Weifen, "the most beautiful rural teacher in the country", a Chinese youth "May 4th" medal winner Hong Meishu, "Ministry of Education's Famous Primary and Secondary School Principal" Ye Limin, "National College Graduates Grassroots Employment Excellence Award" Wu Quansui and other outstanding graduates. The school has always adhered to its original mission of “educating talents for the Party and educating talents for the country”, with the mission and vision of “building a Qiongtai that satisfies the people and builds a Qiongtai that the free trade port needs” as its mission and vision, and insists on being based in Hainan, taking root at the grassroots level, and facing the whole country. The school currently has more than 1,000 faculty and staff and nearly 12,000 full-time students. There are 11 teaching units including the School of Information Science and Technology and the School of Management, offering 29 undergraduate majors. The school is a key supporting institution of the Ministry of Education's "Teacher Education Collaborative Quality Improvement Plan", a deputy director unit of the National Student Mental Health Advisory Committee, a deputy director unit of the National Normal School Alliance Preschool Education Committee, and one of the first batch of national healthy school construction units. Hainan Province is one of the first batch of universities selected as a national language promotion base and a pilot university for the comprehensive reform of "Three Complete Educations" in Hainan Province. The school has won the title of "National Civilized Unit" four times in a row, and has been awarded the honors of National Advanced Unit for Language and Writing, National Advanced Unit for School Art Education, National Advanced Unit for Mandarin Training and Testing, and National Advanced Unit for School Management by Law.
