Qiqihar Higher Normal College was formerly the Provincial No. 1 Normal School founded in 1906 (the 32nd year of Emperor Guangxu’s reign in the Qing Dynasty). It is located in Qiqihar, an important national equipment industrial base known as the “World Wetland and Hometown of Cranes in China” and the capital of green food in China. It is known as the “No. 1 Normal School in Longjiang”. In 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school integrated some resources of the former Qiqihar City Preschool Normal School, the Municipal Education College and the Keshan Teachers College, which was personally named “Sprout School” by Comrade Mao Zedong in 1947, into a full-time general higher vocational college. The school has a long history of running schools, profound cultural heritage, and rigorous education and teaching. The school adheres to the school motto of “cultivating character and learning, cultivating oneself and strengthening skills, seeking excellence and being pragmatic, and being a model for others” and the good teacher ethics of “being a teacher with high learning and being a model for others”, cultivating morality and educating people, and serving the country with education. It has trained nearly 100,000 students all over the country and has made outstanding contributions to national liberation, national construction and reform and opening up. It has won many honors such as "National Advanced Unit for Scientific Research in Higher Vocational Colleges", "Provincial Model Unit", and "Municipal Advanced Unit for Labor Model". Since the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the school has taken Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the guide, insisted on educating people for the Party and the country, fully implemented the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity, and in accordance with the development idea of "upholding the truth, improving, innovating and strengthening", emancipated the mind, reformed and innovated, continuously improved the quality of education and teaching, improved the level of professional construction, and focused on cultivating socialist builders and successors with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor. The teaching conditions are superior, the faculty is strong, and the professional characteristics are distinctive. The school covers an area of 319 acres and a total construction area of 120,000 square meters. The education and teaching infrastructure is complete, the modern integrated practice and training room is fully functional and advanced, and the living service conditions of college students meet the needs. The school currently has 351 faculty and staff, including 296 full-time teachers, 67.57% of teachers with a master's degree or above, 30.07% of deputy senior teachers or above, and 66.56% of dual-qualified teachers. It has a group of provincial excellent teaching teams, famous teachers and young teaching experts. The school recruits students from all over the country, and currently has nearly 6,000 full-time students. A total of 26 normal and non-normal majors such as preschool education, primary education, and special education are offered, including 2 majors supported by the central finance and the Ministry of Education, 7 majors with provincial key construction, and 190 national, provincial and municipal research projects. It is the national training base for kindergarten teachers of the Ministry of Education, a key higher vocational college in Heilongjiang Province, and the only rural preschool education research base in the province. It undertakes the "National Training Program" for kindergarten teachers at the national and provincial levels. The integration of production and education is in-depth, the cooperation between schools and enterprises is extensive, and the collaborative education has achieved fruitful results. The school closely focuses on the demand for talents in national strategies and social and economic development, and vigorously promotes higher vocational education, e-commerce, computer technology application, flight attendants, high-speed railway passenger services, tourism management and other majors. It has implemented school-enterprise cooperation with more than 20 enterprises and institutions, and opened the only ceramic design and technology major in the province. The first Internet industry college in the province was established, JD.com's e-commerce talent training system was introduced, and an "Internet + e-commerce" talent training base was built. The school-enterprise cooperation, the integration of theory and practice, and the "1+X" talent training model were vigorously promoted, forming a school-running pattern of coordinated development of teacher education, higher vocational education and continuing education, and cultivating a large number of high-quality teachers and technical and skilled talents for social and economic development.
