Quanzhou Medical College, located on the banks of the Luoyang River in Quanzhou, the cultural capital of East Asia, a famous hometown of overseas Chinese, and a historical and cultural city, is a full-time public national exemplary (key) medical and health vocational college. In the nearly 90 years of school-running history, the school has condensed the school motto of "Sincerity and Benefiting the World", established the school-running philosophy of "Sincerity, Professionalism, Virtue, Medicine, Technology, and Benefiting the World and the People", and has trained and delivered more than 60,000 practical and professional health technical talents of various types from colleges and technical secondary schools to the society. The school was founded in 1934 and was originally named Huishi Senior Nursing School. After several name changes, it was changed to Quanzhou Health School in 1986. In May 2004, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to Quanzhou Medical College. In 2008, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China awarded the "Excellent" grade in the talent training level assessment of higher vocational colleges; in 2009, it was identified as a model higher vocational college in Fujian Province; in 2014, it passed the national key higher vocational college project acceptance and became the third in the country and the only national model (key) medical and health higher vocational college in Fujian Province; in 2015, it successfully passed the second round of talent training work assessment of higher vocational colleges; in 2020, it became a model modern higher vocational college in Fujian Province; in 2021, it was approved as a Class A project construction unit of the Fujian Province High-level Vocational College and Professional Construction Plan. The school has three campuses, Luojiang, Hui'an, and Nan'an, covering an area of 795 acres and a building area of 238,400 square meters. The total area of the on-campus training base is 82,903.68 square meters, the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 170 million yuan, and the total number of books in the library is 624,800. It has 8 affiliated hospitals (including 2 directly affiliated hospitals) and 228 teaching practice hospitals and practice pharmaceutical companies distributed throughout the province. There are 746 faculty members and 589 full-time teachers, including 238 teachers with associate senior titles or above, 326 teachers with master's degrees or above, 1 expert enjoying special allowance from the State Council, 1 Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Outstanding Teacher, 2 provincial university teaching masters, 3 provincial excellent teachers, 1 provincial vocational education principal, and 1 provincial vocational education master. "Dual-qualified" teachers account for 85.68% of the total number of professional teachers.
