Quzhou Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time higher vocational college established in 2002 with the approval of the Provincial People's Government on the basis of the former Quzhou Normal School, Quzhou Health School, Quzhou Teachers' Continuing Education School and Quzhou Technical Secondary School. In 2003, it jointly established Quzhou College with Zhejiang University of Technology Zhejiang West Branch. After Quzhou College was successfully upgraded to a university in 2010, it resumed independent operation. The school now covers an area of 387 acres, with 8 secondary colleges, 28 higher vocational majors, more than 7,000 full-time students, 532 faculty and staff, 151 with senior professional and technical positions, 415 with master's degrees or above, and 32 with doctoral degrees. In recent years, the school has anchored the goal of building a "double high" college, closely connected with Quzhou's leading industries and strategic emerging industries, and made every effort to promote the construction of "2+3+2" professional groups. The two professional groups of medical care and health care with nursing as the core and industrial Internet with computer application technology as the core have been selected into the list of provincial high-level professional groups. The national control acupuncture and massage and Chinese medicine majors have been approved by the Ministry of Education and achieved high-segment enrollment. The national teaching achievement award, the gold medal of the China International "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the provincial science and technology progress award, the first prize of the teaching ability competition, the "pioneer" and "leading goose" projects, the teacher teaching innovation team, the doctoral innovation station, and the national and provincial A-level competitions have made major breakthroughs in a large number of major landmark achievements in the construction of "double high". The "Industry-University-Research Collaborative Innovation Base" was successfully selected as the first batch of "Science and Technology Innovation China" innovation bases. In the provincial higher vocational college supervision and evaluation, it ranked 11th among the 47 participating higher vocational colleges in the province. Adhere to the orientation of talent training with serving the local area and promoting employment, deepen the "five coordination" reform of vocational education in Quzhou City, build the Four Provinces Margin (Quzhou) Common Prosperity College with high quality, establish the Quzhou Vocational Education Group, give play to the role of the Four Provinces Margin Vocational Training Alliance, co-build Huayou New Materials College with Huayou Group, co-build the Fire Rescue College with the Municipal Fire Brigade, cooperate with three regional secondary vocational schools to carry out the regional high and secondary vocational integrated talent training pilot, and co-build the Quzhou Vocational College Smart College, Jiangshan Branch, and Changshan Branch. The employment rate of graduates in 2022 reached 98.66%, and the employment rate of graduates staying in Quzhou reached 24.63%. New breakthroughs have been made in international exchanges and cooperation, and the cooperative education project with overseas institutions has been successfully approved. The construction of Cambodia's "Silk Road College" with Tongtianxing Group has been fully promoted. At present, the school continues to seize the major opportunity of the Party Central Committee to vigorously develop vocational education, and strives to promote the construction of "double-high" colleges and vocational education undergraduates. By around 2025, two provincial high-level professional groups of Nursing (Medical Care and Health Care) and Computer Application Technology (Industrial Internet) will be built, and the school will be among the high-level vocational colleges in Zhejiang Province; by around 2027, 2 to 3 professional groups will be included in the plan for the construction of high-level professional groups with Chinese characteristics, and the school will be among the plans for the construction of high-level vocational colleges with Chinese characteristics; by 2030, the school will be upgraded to a vocational education undergraduate university, forming a modern vocational education system with vocational education undergraduate as the main body and vocational education junior college (integrated talent training in regional and higher vocational education) as the support, and constructing a "Quzhou Vocational Paradigm" for high-quality development of vocational education with regional characteristics and domestic competitiveness, and contributing to the high-quality construction of Quzhou City as a marginal central city of four provinces and the promotion of Chinese-style modernization in Quzhou practice.
