On September 4, 2012, Renmin University of China officially issued a document to establish the Suzhou Campus, which is fully responsible for the management of teaching and research institutions and social service institutions such as the International College (Suzhou Research Institute) and the Sino-French College. The Suzhou Campus of Renmin University of China is an important part of the overall development of Renmin University and a new growth point. It is a teaching and research base facing the East China region; it is an experimental base for exploring Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools and cultivating high-end talents; it is a base for the expansion and improvement of advantageous disciplines. Renmin University of China established the Suzhou Campus Management Committee. As the leadership organization of the Suzhou Campus, it is mainly responsible for the overall strategic planning of the Suzhou Campus, decision-making on major matters, and the formulation and coordination of the school's relevant support policies for the Suzhou Campus. Chen Yulu, President of Renmin University of China, serves as the Director of the Suzhou Campus Management Committee, and Vice President Yi Zhihong and Assistant to the President Yang Weiguo serve as Deputy Directors of the Management Committee.
