Sanquan College of Xinxiang Medical College was approved in 2003 and was confirmed as an independent college by the Ministry of Education in December of the same year. In February 2009, Xinxiang Medical College signed a cooperative school-running agreement with Shanghai Yumei Enterprise Management Co., Ltd., pushing the school's development into a new stage. The school has two campuses in Xinxiang and Pingyuan, covering an area of 1908.11 acres. The school has 18 professional colleges (departments) including the School of Basic Medicine and the School of Nursing, 6 residential colleges including Renzhi and Xihe, and 30 functional departments including the Department of Academic Affairs and the Department of Academic Affairs. The school is a "key project cultivation unit for the awarding of master's degrees" and a supporting unit of the National Natural Science Foundation. It has 3 provincial key disciplines, 3 provincial first-class undergraduate professional construction sites, 7 provincial private colleges and universities brand professional construction sites, 9 provincial private colleges and universities discipline and professional funding projects, 4 provincial professional comprehensive reform pilot projects, and 8 national special majors; 2 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, 2 productive teaching workshops, and 8 training centers. The school has 4 affiliated hospitals, among which the affiliated Nanyang Nanshi Hospital is a Class 3A hospital, a national stroke screening and prevention base, a national chest pain center, and a standardized training base for assistant general practitioners.
