The School of Information Engineering of Hangzhou Dianzi University was established by Hangzhou Dianzi University in 1999, approved by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, and confirmed by the Ministry of Education in 2004. In July 2012, Hangzhou Dianzi University and Lin'an Municipal Government signed a cooperation agreement to jointly build the School of Information Engineering of Hangzhou Dianzi University. In 2019, the college officially passed the provincial acceptance of the standardized establishment of independent colleges. The college is located on the shore of Qingshan Lake in the Science and Technology Innovation Corridor in the west of Hangzhou. The college covers an area of 500 acres and has a construction area of 174,800 square meters. The college adheres to the spirit of "diligent learning and practice, adhering to the truth and seeking innovation" of Hangzhou Dianzi University, follows the school-running policy of "relying on the parent body, being relatively independent, and running with characteristics", and is committed to building a modern innovative and entrepreneurial university with the service tenet of "based on the region, close to the industry, and serving Zhejiang". The college has formed a discipline layout with obvious advantages in electronic information and outstanding characteristics in economic management. At present, there are 26 majors, covering five major disciplines: engineering, economics, management, literature, and art. The undergraduate major layout and structure of six major professional groups are formed, namely computer, mechanical automation, electronic information, economic management, art design, and English. The college has 2 provincial first-class disciplines, 1 provincial "13th Five-Year Plan" advantage specialty, 3 provincial "12th Five-Year Plan" emerging specialty, 1 provincial "11th Five-Year Plan" key construction specialty, and 5 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites. There are 98 laboratories of various types in the Qingshan Lake Campus, including 7 co-built laboratories. It has 2 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers (Electronic Information Experimental Demonstration Center, Industrial Internet Practical Teaching Demonstration Center). The college recruits students from 16 provinces, cities and districts across the country. As of April 2024, the college has 10,488 full-time undergraduate students. In 2023, the college's enrollment score ranked first among similar colleges in the province; the employment rate of undergraduate graduates in 2023 has achieved outstanding results, standing out among similar colleges in the province and ranking among the best. In the more than 20 years since the establishment of the college, we have always been committed to providing outstanding talents for the society and have successfully trained more than 40,000 undergraduate graduates. In the survey report released by the Zhejiang Provincial Education Evaluation Institute, our college has performed outstandingly in career development planning and talent training quality, ranking among the top similar colleges and universities. The follow-up survey participation rate and social security rate of graduates one year after graduation are higher than the provincial average level of colleges and universities; students' satisfaction with their alma mater and employers' satisfaction with their alma mater have increased compared with previous years. The college continues to strengthen the construction of the teaching staff and actively introduces and hires high-level talents. There are 521 faculty and staff (excluding external teachers), 25% of whom are teachers with senior professional titles, 85.6% of full-time teachers have master's and doctoral degrees, of which 14.2% are teachers with doctoral degrees. Two national talents have been introduced, and the national high-level talents have achieved a "zero" breakthrough. The college encourages scientific research and technological innovation. In the past three years, the college teachers have undertaken one national project such as the National Natural Science Foundation; more than 30 provincial and ministerial and various scientific research projects; one pioneer project; more than 70 horizontal projects for enterprises and governments, and 7 achievement transformation projects; published more than 100 papers, including 3 papers in top journals; won the second prize of the Innovation Award of the Invention and Entrepreneurship Award of the China Invention Association, the second prize of the Science and Technology Social Force Award of the China Communications Association, and 10 other awards. The college's academic competition results have reached new heights. In the "2023 National General College Student Competition Analysis Report", our college ranked 3rd in the country and 1st in Zhejiang Province in the "Private and Independent Colleges" in the eight-round overall list of the National General College Student Competition with 430 awards and a total score of 56.66 points, and ranked 237th among 1,218 undergraduate colleges and universities. In 2023, the school won 557 provincial and above awards (a year-on-year increase of 25.17%), including 155 national and above awards (a year-on-year increase of 29.17%); in the finals of the China International College Student Innovation Competition (2023), the college won 1 gold and 1 silver, ranking second among similar colleges and universities in the country. The college continues to promote the integration of industry and education, industry-university cooperation and collaborative education mechanisms, build a school-enterprise joint talent training model, and carry out "1+2+1" cooperative education with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, opening "Electronic Information Engineering Major (Chengdian Class)"; carry out "3+1" cooperative education with Hangzhou University of Electronic Science and Technology; jointly open "Computer Science and Technology (CETC Joint Training Order Class)" with Shanghai CETC Electronic System Technology Co., Ltd.; and jointly open "ACCA Direction Class in Accounting" and "CFA Direction Class in Finance" with Shanghai Gaodun Education Technology Co., Ltd. Cooperate with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. to establish an ICT College; cooperate with Zhejiang Guoyan Laser Technology Co., Ltd. to build a laser radar technology research center; sign school-enterprise cooperation agreements with 58 units including Hangzhou Foster Applied Materials Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Meike Technology Co., Ltd., Focus Technology (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd., Sotorian Automotive Technology Co., Ltd., Huali Technology Co., Ltd., and Lixin Accounting Firm (Zhejiang Branch) to jointly build an employment internship training base. The college also has more than 6,000 square meters of innovation and entrepreneurship venues to meet the innovation and entrepreneurship activities of students on campus. In the face of new development opportunities and challenges, the School of Information Engineering of Hangzhou Dianzi University will continue to carry forward its own school-running characteristics, adhere to the fundamental task of cultivating morality and educating people, improve the quality of undergraduate education, accelerate the development of connotation, and strive to create a modern entrepreneurial and innovative undergraduate university with a beautiful campus environment, a strong humanistic atmosphere, distinctive professional characteristics, and core competitiveness.
