Shaanxi Communications Vocational and Technical College is a public higher vocational college organized by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government. It is committed to cultivating high-quality transportation technical and skilled personnel. In the 72 years since its establishment, it has trained more than 80,000 talents and is known as the "cradle of transportation construction and management talents in western China". The school is located in Xi'an, the ancient capital of one of the four major historical and cultural cities in the world. It was formerly the cadre training class of the Transportation Department of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government established in 1952. In 1956, it was renamed Shaanxi Provincial Transportation School. In 2001, it was upgraded to a higher vocational college and named Shaanxi Communications Vocational and Technical College. In 2011, it was transferred from the Provincial Department of Transportation to the Provincial Department of Education for management, and a co-construction mechanism between the Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Department of Transportation was implemented. The school currently has four campuses: Wenjing, Ziqiang, Tongyuan, and Taibai. The total construction area of the school is 473,200 square meters, and the total asset value is 1.77 billion yuan. The library has more than 900,000 paper books and more than 180,000 electronic books. It has 3 national-level productive training bases, 1 school-enterprise collaborative technology innovation center, 3 training bases supported by the central government, 5 provincial-level training bases, 5 provincial-level off-campus practical teaching bases, 1 national-level vocational education demonstration virtual simulation training base cultivation project, 5 virtual simulation training centers, 149 experimental training rooms, 589 off-campus training bases, and 1 college student innovation and entrepreneurship education center. The school currently has teaching units such as the School of Highway Engineering, the School of Railway Engineering, the School of Architecture and Surveying Engineering, the School of Intelligent Automobile Manufacturing, the School of Automobile Application Engineering, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Rail Technology, the School of Railway Transportation, the School of Transportation Information, the School of Marxism, the School of General Education, the School of Physical Education, the School of Continuing Education and International Exchange, and has a total of 46 full-time higher vocational majors and 33 adult education majors. The school currently has 63 professors (5 professors at level 3 and above), 213 associate professors, 39 doctors, 423 masters, and the proportion of "double teachers" in key majors is 100%. It has 435 close school-enterprise cooperation units, and the employment rate of graduates has remained above 97% for many years.
