Shandong Vocational and Technical University of Foreign Studies, formerly known as Shandong Vocational College of Foreign Studies, was officially established in August 2005 with the approval of the Shandong Provincial People's Government and the filing of the Ministry of Education. In March 2008, Shandong Huaxin Industry and Trade Co., Ltd. became the main organizer of the school, pushing the school into the fast lane of development. In December 2018, the school was upgraded to an undergraduate-level vocational school with the approval of the Ministry of Education, becoming one of the first 15 vocational undergraduate schools in the country. In May 2019, the school was renamed "Shandong Vocational and Technical University of Foreign Studies". Mr. Ding Zhaozhong, a world-renowned physicist and Nobel Prize winner, is the honorary principal of the school. The conditions for running a school are excellent. It currently occupies an area of 848,400 square meters, with a total school building area of 514,900 square meters; the total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 110 million yuan, and the total number of books in the library is 2.4376 million; there are 1,099 full-time teachers, including 330 professional and technical teachers at associate senior level and above , there are 611 teachers with a master's degree or above, and 618 "double-qualified" teachers.
