Shanghai Civil Aviation Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1980 and is affiliated to the Civil Aviation Administration of China. It was upgraded to a junior college in May 2012. It is an industry-oriented higher vocational college dedicated to cultivating high-quality and highly skilled front-line talents needed to serve civil aviation and social development. The college currently has two campuses, Xuhui and Pudong, with a total area of more than 680 acres, namely Xuhui Campus (No. 1, Longhua West Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai) and Pudong Campus (No. 100, Xuehai Road, Pudong New District, Shanghai). The Xuhui Campus is positioned as the administrative center of the college, part of the full-time academic education (Civil Aviation Flight Attendant College), adult continuing education (Continuing Education College), network data center and civil aviation on-the-job training base; Pudong Campus is positioned as full-time academic education (Civil Aviation Transport College, Civil Aviation Maintenance College, Airport Management College, Large Aircraft College, Public Basic College), Sino-foreign cooperative education base and professional training base with civil aviation characteristics and industry-university-research training center. The college currently has about 454 faculty members, 387 full-time teachers, 88 associate professors and above, 292 masters and doctors, and 71.4% of teachers are dual-qualified. The college has about 8,800 students. According to the requirements of the Civil Aviation Administration and its own development plan, by the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan, the number of students will reach about 10,000. The college adheres to the orientation of cultivating applied and skilled talents, focuses on the advantages of civil aviation specialty, and is committed to promoting connotation-based construction and development. At present, the college has set up majors such as civil aviation transport services, aviation logistics management, civil aviation transportation (civil aviation e-commerce), flight attendants, civil aviation air security, civil aviation safety technology management, civil aviation transport services (aviation tourism services), airport operations (civil aviation airport meteorological observation), airport operations (airport management), aircraft electromechanical equipment maintenance, aircraft electromechanical equipment maintenance (Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools), general aviation aircraft maintenance (helicopter maintenance), aircraft structure repair, aviation ground equipment maintenance, aircraft electronic equipment maintenance, drone application technology, aircraft digital manufacturing technology, aircraft digital manufacturing technology (general aviation aircraft manufacturing), airport operation services and management (aircraft apron control), and aircraft engine assembly and commissioning technology. Among them, the two majors of aircraft electromechanical equipment maintenance and flight attendants have become the key majors of Shanghai municipal construction. The courses of "Aircraft Engine Principles and Structures" of the Civil Aviation Maintenance College and "Dangerous Goods Air Transport" of the Civil Aviation Transportation College have been rated as excellent courses at the municipal level in Shanghai. The college has become an important base for cultivating applied skilled talents and industry-university-research training in the civil aviation industry in Shanghai. Since its establishment, the college has trained a large number of highly skilled application talents for the national civil aviation industry, and is well received by civil aviation enterprises and institutions. All graduates have a good reputation in the industry, and many outstanding alumni have become business backbones, model workers and management talents in all fronts of civil aviation. The college has good conditions for running higher vocational education, first-class civil aviation professional training facilities and equipment, and meets the equipment and technical requirements of the Civil Aviation Administration for on-the-job training of post personnel. The college is an authorized training institution of the China Air Transport Association and the International Air Transport Association; it is the first college in Shanghai to have the qualifications for civil aircraft maintenance training (CCAR-147 school) and civil aircraft maintenance personnel license examination (CCAR-66 test site). It is an on-the-job training and assessment base for civil aviation flight attendants and air security personnel, and the training scope radiates across the country. The college adheres to the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people, comprehensively promotes quality education, vigorously cultivates socialist core values, and promotes and practices the contemporary civil aviation spirit. The college adheres to the school-running positioning of "based in East China, serving civil aviation, distinctive characteristics, and social satisfaction", and aims to create a first-class domestic civil aviation vocational college.
