Shanghai Health Medical College is the first applied technology undergraduate medical school named after "Health" in China. The strategy of "strengthening the country through education" and "healthy China" is implemented. The school adheres to the "application-oriented, distinctive and international" school-running orientation, and has condensed the school-running characteristics of "combining medicine and engineering, medical care and health care", focusing on the whole life cycle and aiming at the whole health process. It has opened 20 undergraduate majors, including clinical medicine, preventive medicine, medical imaging technology, nursing, rehabilitation physical therapy, rehabilitation engineering, oral medicine technology, medical testing technology, health inspection and quarantine, food hygiene and nutrition, health services and management, pharmacy, drug analysis, biomedical engineering, clinical engineering technology, data science and big data technology, medical product management, public utilities management, intelligent imaging engineering, and midwifery. Among them, clinical engineering technology, medical product management, and intelligent imaging engineering are the first majors in the country, health services and management, and medical imaging technology are the first to be established in Shanghai, and midwifery, drug analysis, health inspection and quarantine, and oral medicine technology majors fill the gaps in Shanghai. It has made positive contributions to filling the gap in the training of applied medical talents in Shanghai, filling the gap in grassroots health talents, and meeting the people's diversified medical needs. The school is located in the International Medical Park of Zhangjiang Science City, Pudong, and currently has more than 11,000 full-time students. The school has been approved for 2 national first-class undergraduate professional construction sites, 7 provincial first-class undergraduate professional construction sites, 4 municipal applied undergraduate pilot majors, 1 municipal first-class undergraduate construction leading plan, and 2 municipal "new engineering" professional construction projects. The school has 4 directly affiliated hospitals, namely Chongming Hospital, Zhoupu Hospital, Jiading District Central Hospital, and Lingang Branch of Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, 2 affiliated hospitals, namely Fengxian District Central Hospital and Jinshan Branch of Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, 30 affiliated community health service centers including Nicheng, Datuan, Jiading Town, Malu, Heqing, Changbai, Yanji, Chuanbei, Huaxin, Jinze, Meilong, Xinhong, and Zhujing; the "Shanghai Health Medical College Community Health Service Center Health Alliance" covering 13 districts in Shanghai has been established, with 72 current member units; it has carried out cooperative order classes with many tertiary hospitals such as Ruijin Hospital, Zhongshan Hospital, and Xinhua Hospital, and has maintained all-round close cooperation with hundreds of high-level medical service institutions, medical device companies, and testing units. Students represented Shanghai in two national skills competitions and won the gold medal in the health and social care project. They represented China in the 2022 World Skills Competition Special Competition and won the bronze medal, achieving a zero breakthrough in China in this project.
