Shanghai Jianqiao University is located in the Lingang New Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone. It is a for-profit full-time private university that focuses on undergraduate education and cultivates high-quality applied talents in the front line of production, technology, service and management. The full name of the school is Shanghai Jianqiao University Co., Ltd. The school is a national civilized unit, a national model university for party building work, a national advanced unit for mass sports, a national advanced unit for open and democratic management of factory affairs, a national model school for innovation and entrepreneurship education in private universities, and a national advanced unit for the development of logistics in universities. It is a Shanghai civilized unit (civilized campus), a Shanghai university "three-dimensional education" comprehensive reform model school, a Shanghai party building work characteristic university, Shanghai Advanced Collective to Promote Employment, Shanghai Rule of Law Model School, Shanghai Education Informatization Application Benchmark Cultivation School, Shanghai Garden Unit, Shanghai Safe Demonstration Unit, etc., and has passed the ISO9001 quality management system certification. The school was funded and established in 1999 by Zhou Xingzeng and other entrepreneurs who were enthusiastic about education and public welfare. In April 2001, the school was approved as the "Private Shanghai Jianqiao Vocational and Technical College"; in August 2003, the school was renamed "Shanghai Jianqiao Vocational and Technical College".
