Shanghai Nanhu Vocational and Technical College is a public higher vocational college approved by the Ministry of Education. As the first new (five-year continuous) higher vocational college in Shanghai, Nanhu Vocational College, relying on the strong school-running foundation of the former Nanhu Vocational School, was officially established on April 9, 2021. As a pioneer of "district-based, city-district co-construction, and multi-party participation in governance", the college is jointly built by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and the People's Government of Hongkou District. It mainly implements three-year academic education for high school graduates and five-year continuous academic education for junior high school graduates. At the same time, it carries out part-time academic continuing education and non-academic continuing education, and carries out vocational skills training services. Nanhu Vocational College was born in the new era of the country's vigorous development of vocational education and Shanghai's deepening of comprehensive education reform. It adheres to the socialist direction of running schools and the party's education policy, upholds the school-running spirit of "entrepreneurship and innovation, pursuit of first-class", and establishes the school motto of "thick virtue, fine skills, good thinking and practice", cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents with "red genes + cultural quality + professional skills" with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor. The college has a clear positioning and distinctive characteristics. It is built with four major professional groups: digital creativity, smart car services, health care, and smart business travel. It serves the industrial transformation of Hongkou, the new positioning pattern of Shanghai's "five-type economy", the digital transformation of Shanghai, and the national strategy of the Yangtze River Delta integration. It gives full play to the advantages of five-year training, creates high-quality modern vocational education, and strives to become a cradle for cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents needed for the digital transformation of the city. Deeply integrated into the industrial chain and innovation chain, it cooperates deeply with leading enterprises in various industries to build four industrial colleges of Donghu Hotel, digital new media, modern health and smart new energy vehicles, taking the road of deep integration of industry and education, and collaboratively innovating talent training models. The college is a national vocational college digital campus construction unit, a national demonstration virtual simulation training base cultivation unit, a vice chairman unit of the Sino-German Vocational Education National and Yangtze River Delta Automotive Vocational Education Industry-Education Integration Innovation Alliance, a pilot unit of the new energy vehicle inspection and maintenance major of the Sino-German cooperation SGAVE project of the Ministry of Education (the only one in Shanghai), and the first national "smart new energy vehicle" vocational direction "job course competition certificate" integration demonstration base. The college is the only shortlisted unit in the first batch of Shanghai's "Metaverse" major application scenario vocational education classroom project. It is also the Shanghai Curriculum Ideological and Political Teaching Research Demonstration Center, the first batch of Shanghai New Technician Colleges, Shanghai 5G+XR Intelligent (Networked) Automobile Virtual Simulation Demonstration Base, Shanghai Information Benchmark School Construction Unit, Shanghai Municipal Innovation and Entrepreneurship College (cultivation), and Shanghai's "14th Five-Year Plan" First Batch of Municipal Science and Technology Education Characteristic Demonstration Schools. By the end of 2022, the college has one professional group selected as a high-level professional group construction unit for higher vocational colleges in Shanghai (2022-2024), and two teaching achievement awards won the first prize of the 2022 Shanghai Excellent Teaching Achievement Award. The college was rated as an advanced collective of "North Bund High-quality Development, High-quality Life, and High-efficiency Governance" in Hongkou District. The key to the high-quality development of vocational education lies in leading figures and a team of dual-qualified teachers. Nanhu Vocational College has a high-quality and innovative team of teachers who are dedicated to educating people, professionally competent, and skilled. Each department has subject leaders at different levels and recognized by the industry. At the same time, combined with the characteristics of technical and skilled talent training, we actively build a team of part-time teachers mainly composed of industry and enterprise masters and senior backbones, forming a dual-teacher team with vocational education characteristics, cross-border integration, and innovation, to promote the college's connotation-based high-quality development. The college currently has three Shanghai-level teacher teaching innovation teams, including new energy vehicle inspection and maintenance technology, digital media technology, and health care. One person was selected as an "Oriental Scholar" Distinguished Professor and a Leading Talent in Hongkou District, two people were selected into the Municipal Higher Vocational Education Master Studio and Master Studio (cultivation), one person was selected into the Hongkou Young Craftsman, and many people were selected into the municipal teacher teaching innovation team and the Hongjiao system teacher professional talent construction echelon. The college has a superior geographical location and is one of the few higher vocational colleges located in the central urban area of Shanghai. The college has a total of 4 campuses. The headquarters is located at No. 661 Sanmen Road, Hongkou District, the East Campus is located at No. 481 Miyun Road, the South Campus is located at No. 32, Lane 1702, Sichuan North Road, and the West Campus is located at No. 730 North Station Road.
