Shanghai Science and Technology Vocational College was founded in 1959. It is a public full-time higher vocational college approved by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education. The school is located in Jiading, one of the “Five New Cities” in Shanghai and known as the “International Automobile City”. It is one of Shanghai’s “Garden Units”, “Shanghai Civilized Units”, “Shanghai Safe and Civilized Campus” and “Shanghai Green School”. In 2016, it passed the acceptance of Shanghai's characteristic higher vocational colleges with an "excellent" grade.
