Shanxi Business College was founded in 1986. In 2004, it was approved by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government to establish Shanxi Business College. In 2011, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to the first undergraduate private college in Shanxi Province. In 2019, it successfully passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation of the Ministry of Education. In 2022, it was approved as the first batch of applied colleges and universities in Shanxi Province. Since its establishment, the school has implemented the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity, running schools in accordance with the law, running schools with integrity, running schools in a standardized manner, and running schools in an open manner. The school currently has two campuses, Longcheng and Beige, with more than 19,500 students, 14 secondary colleges and 4 teaching departments, 48 undergraduate majors and 2 professional directions, and has initially formed a discipline and professional construction pattern with management as the main focus, multi-disciplinary cross-integration and coordinated development. The discipline of business administration was selected into the Shanxi Province's "1331 Project" Advantageous and Characteristic Discipline Construction Plan. The dance choreography major and the business administration major have been selected into the advantageous professional construction projects of higher education institutions in Shanxi Province. In the past three years, six majors of our school, including business administration, accounting, preschool education, Internet of Things Engineering, Food Quality and Safety, and Financial Management, have been approved as first-class professional construction sites in Shanxi Province. The preschool education major is the only national first-class undergraduate professional construction site approved among private colleges and universities in our province. In 2023, all six ideological and political courses were selected for the first Shanxi College Ideological and Political Theory Course Competition Award, and won 2 special prizes, 2 first prizes, and 2 second prizes. The award level and total number ranked first among undergraduate colleges and universities in the province, and it is the only one to achieve "full coverage of undergraduate courses" and "full coverage of award levels." The school's current teaching and research equipment is worth 142 million yuan; the library has a collection of 1.9433 million paper books; the Media Experimental Teaching Center and the Tourism Management Comprehensive Simulation Training Center have been rated as provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers; the University Student Entrepreneurship Park has been recognized as a provincial makerspace by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and the makerspace has been recognized as a "national makerspace" by the Ministry of Science and Technology; the student employment rate has been among the best in Shanxi undergraduate colleges for many years; exchanges and cooperation have been carried out with more than 20 colleges and universities in countries and regions such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
