Shanxi Finance and Trade Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public general college at the junior college level approved by the Ministry of Education of China and the People's Government of Shanxi Province and under the management of the Shanxi Provincial Department of Education. It was founded in August 1978 and was formerly known as Shanxi Finance and Trade School. In October 1993, it was rated as a provincial and ministerial key technical secondary school, in November 1994, it was rated as a key technical secondary school of the Ministry of Domestic Trade System, and in May 2000, it was rated as a national key technical secondary school. In April 2002, it was upgraded to Shanxi Finance and Trade Vocational and Technical College, which is a "Shanxi Provincial Demonstration Higher Vocational College". In July 2021, it was rated as a high-level professional group construction unit of the "Double High Plan" in Shanxi Province. The college is located at No. 26, Minhang South Road, Taiyuan City, covering an area of more than 100,000 square meters and a school building area of more than 90,000 square meters. It has teaching buildings, student apartments, restaurants, auditoriums, standard sports fields, 11 electronic reading rooms, and 62 advanced and professional modern experimental training rooms. All teaching activities use multimedia teaching methods. The library currently has more than 500,000 books, more than 240,000 electronic books, and 3,200 electronic professional journals. The campus network architecture is reasonable and standardized, with full network coverage in office, teaching, and experimental training areas, and 123 network multimedia classrooms.
