The predecessor of Shanxi Health Vocational College was the Shanxi Provincial Health Department Health Personnel Training Class established in August 1953. In March 2018, with the approval of the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and the filing of the Ministry of Education, the Shanxi Workers Medical College was officially restructured into a general higher vocational college, and implemented two brands and unified management with the Shanxi School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The college is a provincial public college of higher vocational education at the junior college level. It currently has three campuses: Shuangdong Campus, Wenjin Campus, and Kangyang Campus. The main school is located at No. 100, Wenjin Street, Yuci District, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province. The three campuses cover a total area of 201,131.37 square meters, a total construction area of 233,313.95 square meters, and a total fixed asset value of 543.4606 million yuan. The college offers a total of 20 majors, among which nursing and pharmacy majors are the top 100 backbone majors and high-level key professional construction projects of higher vocational colleges in Shanxi Province; medical laboratory technology and pharmacy majors are the first batch of construction projects of the "14th Five-Year Plan" of Shanxi vocational education brand majors; pharmacy, midwifery, and oral medicine technology majors are key professional construction projects of Shanxi vocational education; medical laboratory technology, nursing, and medical imaging technology majors are key training base construction projects of Shanxi vocational education. There are three affiliated hospitals, including Shanxi Provincial People's Hospital, Taiyuan People's Hospital, and Jinzhong Yuci District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. It has established a stable internship and employment base with more than 100 medical and health units, including the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, Shanxi Cancer Hospital, Shanxi Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated Hospital, the Characteristic Medical Center of the Strategic Support Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Beijing Renhe Hospital, the Sixth Division Hospital of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Yuncheng First Hospital, Fukang People's Hospital, Fukang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Henglun Stomatological Hospital, Dean Medical Laboratory Center, and Aidikang Medical Laboratory Center.
