Shanxi International Business Vocational College (hereinafter referred to as "the College") is a full-time higher vocational college sponsored by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and is affiliated to the Shanxi Provincial Department of Education. Its predecessor was the Shanxi Foreign Economic and Trade Cadre School and the Shanxi Foreign Economic and Trade Staff Secondary Vocational School. It was founded in 1984, renamed Shanxi International Business School in 2000, and upgraded to Shanxi International Business Vocational College in 2004. The college has won the title of "Provincial Civilized Unit" for 20 consecutive years from 1999 to 2018, and has won the national and provincial "Youth Civilization Unit" titles since 2012. It was awarded the honorary title of "Advanced School for Creating a Provincial Civilized Campus" in 2019.
