Shanxi Management Vocational College is a full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government, registered by the Ministry of Education of China, and managed by the Provincial Department of Education. The school was founded in September 1974, restructured into the Linfen District Administrative Cadre School in January 1980, rebuilt into the Shanxi Provincial Administrative Management School in May 1986, and upgraded to Shanxi Management Vocational College in November 2003. In January 2021, it was transferred from the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security to the Provincial Department of Education for management. In the nearly 50 years since its establishment, it has trained tens of thousands of outstanding talents for the country. The college is located in Linfen, the capital of Emperor Yao, which enjoys the reputation of "the first capital of China", and is located in the northern section of Binhe West Road, Yaodu District. It covers an area of 270 acres and a construction area of about 60,000 square meters. It has comprehensive teaching buildings, training buildings, libraries, 400-meter standard track and field stadiums and other teaching facilities. It has a collection of 400,000 books, 8 campus network application systems, 42 professional training rooms, 1 modern logistics training center, more than 60 internship training bases, more than 1,600 training stations, and 5,361 sets of various training equipment. Six majors, including modern logistics management, big data and accounting, human resource management, marketing, computer application technology, and photography and video technology, are key majors or backbone majors supported by the central finance and provincial finance; the photography studio is a provincial skill master studio, and the visual communication design major is a modern apprenticeship pilot major. The college is a construction unit for the inheritance and innovation platform of teachers' skills in scarce fields.
