Shanxi Water Conservancy Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1956. It is a full-time college with a history of nearly 70 years. In April 2002, it was approved by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government to merge the former Shanxi Water Conservancy School and Shanxi Water Conservancy Workers University. In July 2020, the former Shanxi Water Conservancy Technical School was incorporated. The college currently has 10,668 full-time students and 575 adult college students. Since its establishment, it has provided more than 80,000 high-quality technical and skilled talents to the society. The college has three campuses in Taiyuan and Yuncheng. The Yuncheng Campus is located at the ruins of Wei Baocheng on the island in the middle of Anyi Reservoir in Yanhu District, Yuncheng City, covering an area of 355 acres. It is surrounded by green water, rippling blue waves and willows on the bank. It is the place where our college's higher vocational majors such as water conservancy, construction engineering, information, transportation and surveying and mapping, as well as the technician department, are located; the Taiyuan Xiaodian Campus is located in Fendong Education City, Xiaodian District, Taiyuan City, covering an area of 168 acres. It has a beautiful environment and complete equipment. It is the place where our college's higher vocational majors such as resources and environment, engineering management, economics and trade, and mechanical and electrical engineering are located; the Taiyuan Shengli Bridge Campus is located west of Shengli Bridge in Jiancaoping District, Taiyuan City, covering an area of 32 acres. It has a superior location and convenient transportation. It is a place for adult education and industry training. In 2023, the college and Wanjiazhai Water Holding Group jointly built the Wanjiazhai Yellow River Diversion Project Pianguan Industry-Education Integration Practice Center and Wanjiazhai Water Modern Industry College, which are located in the Wanjiazhai Water Conservancy Hub Park in Pianguan County, Shanxi Province, covering an area of 70,000 square meters. It is a professional, practical, and compound technical skills talent training base for the water conservancy industry that integrates practical teaching, social training, real production, and technical service functions. The college focuses on higher vocational education, pilots undergraduate education, and also runs technical education, adult education, and industry training. It has nine departments, three departments, and one center, including the Department of Water Conservancy Engineering, the Department of Construction Engineering, the Department of Information Engineering, the Department of Transportation Engineering, the Department of Surveying and Mapping Engineering, the Department of Resources and Environment, the Department of Engineering Management, the Department of Economics and Trade, the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the Department of Ideological and Political Education, the Basic Department, the Technician Department, and the Continuing Education Center, offering seven major professional groups with a total of 50 majors.
