--------Key University of Hebei Province, jointly built by the province and the ministry Shijiazhuang Railway University was formerly the Engineering College of the Railway Corps of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. It was founded in 1950 and was a key university of the whole army at that time. In 1979, it was listed as a national key university. In 1984, it was transferred to the Ministry of Railways and renamed Shijiazhuang Railway Institute. In 2000, it was transferred to Hebei Province and implemented the central and local co-construction, becoming a key university in Hebei Province. In March 2010, it was renamed Shijiazhuang Railway University. In July 2015, it was approved as a co-construction university by the Hebei Provincial People's Government, the National Railway Administration, and the Ministry of Education. In 2016, it was listed as a first-class university and a first-class discipline construction university supported by Hebei Province. At present, the school has 20 colleges (departments, divisions), 25 research institutes. There are 53 undergraduate majors, 5 first-level doctoral degree authorization points, 1 doctoral professional degree authorization point, 3 postdoctoral mobile stations, 14 first-level master's degree authorization points, 1 master's degree second-level discipline authorization point, and 14 master's professional degree authorization points. It has 8 key disciplines in Hebei Province, 1 key development discipline in Hebei Province, and the engineering discipline is ranked in the top 1% in the world by ESI. It has 31 provincial and ministerial scientific research platforms, including 2 national scientific research platforms, "National Key Laboratory of Structural Mechanics Behavior and System Safety of Transportation Engineering Co-built by the Province and the Ministry", "Collaborative Innovation Center for Performance and Safety of Large Infrastructure Co-built by the Province and the Ministry", 1 key laboratory of the Ministry of Education, 2 key laboratories in the railway industry, 7 key laboratories in Hebei Province, 3 Hebei Provincial Technology Innovation Centers, 3 Hebei Provincial Collaborative Innovation Centers, and 4 Hebei Provincial Engineering Research Centers. The school currently has nearly 1,800 faculty and staff, including more than 1,000 full-time teaching and research personnel, 246 professors and other senior professional titles, 459 associate professors and other associate senior professional titles, 150 doctoral supervisors, more than 880 master's supervisors, more than 32,000 students, including more than 4,400 graduate students. There are 2 national teaching teams, 2 national Huang Danian-style teacher teams, 1 innovation team of the Ministry of Education, and 2 innovation and entrepreneurship teams of the Hebei Provincial "Giant Plan"; more than 210 people have the titles of experts at the provincial and ministerial level or above, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 973 chief scientists, winners of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, national outstanding professional and technical talents, national teaching masters, young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in the country, national candidates for the "New Century Hundred Thousand Talents Project", and candidates for the National High-level Talent Special Support Program. The total value of the school's equipment is 741 million yuan, the library has a collection of more than 2 million paper books, the database scale has reached 32 databases (platforms), 37 sub-databases, and the campus network has achieved core 10G to buildings and 1G to desktops. It has obtained 1 pilot college for comprehensive reform of colleges and universities in Hebei Province, a national postgraduate course construction pilot unit, 7 Hebei provincial professional degree postgraduate training practice bases, 2 Hebei provincial demonstrative professional degree postgraduate training practice bases, 17 Hebei first-class undergraduate professional construction sites, 2 application-oriented transformation demonstration majors, 4 provincial college students' off-campus practical education base construction projects, and 2 provincial quality education social practice bases. The school was approved to implement the Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program in 2011. In 2006, it was rated as "excellent" in the evaluation of undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education. In 2016, it successfully passed the review and evaluation of undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education, and in 2023, it successfully passed the review and evaluation of undergraduate education and teaching of the Ministry of Education.
