Shijiazhuang University is a full-time public undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. The school is located in the High-tech Industrial Development Zone of Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. It consists of two campuses, north and south, with convenient transportation and beautiful environment. The school was formerly the Shijiazhuang Special District Normal College established in 1958. Since 1977, it has successively run schools in Gaocheng, Zhengding, and Houlu Niushan. In 1982, with the approval of the State Council, the school was officially named Shijiazhuang Normal College. In 1983, it moved to the Hutuo Riverside Campus in the northern suburbs of Shijiazhuang. In March 1996, with the approval of the Hebei Provincial People's Government, Shijiazhuang Normal College merged with Shijiazhuang Regional Education College and Shijiazhuang Education College to form a new Shijiazhuang Normal College. In May 2004, it was officially upgraded to Shijiazhuang College with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In the 65 years since its establishment, the school has trained more than 140,000 professional talents of various types for the society. The school covers an area of 1,221 mu, with a building area of 441,800 square meters. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 376 million yuan. The library has a collection of 1.38 million books and 4.16 million electronic books. The school recruits students from all over the country. There are currently 17,596 regular full-time undergraduates, and 185 postgraduates jointly trained with Hebei Normal University, Hebei University of Science and Technology, Hebei Science and Technology Normal University and other universities. The school insists on building disciplines and majors on local leading industries, closely connecting with the construction of five 100 billion-level industrial clusters in Shijiazhuang City, namely, new generation electronic information, biomedicine, advanced equipment manufacturing, modern food, and modern trade and logistics, and forming five key professional clusters such as information technology, chemical pharmaceuticals, electromechanical engineering, cultural media, and teacher education. The Shijiazhuang New Generation Electronic Information Training Center and Huawei ICT Academy are settled in our school, and the Modern Industrial College of Intelligent Manufacturing and the Modern Industrial College of Biomedicine have been approved as the first batch of modern industrial colleges in Hebei Province. The International Joint Research Center for Biopharmaceuticals has been recognized as a provincial international scientific and technological cooperation base. In 2020, the then Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Wang Dongfeng and Governor Xu Qin visited the school and gave full affirmation to the school's achievements. In 2021, the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government issued the "Opinions on Vigorously Supporting the Construction of the Provincial Capital and High-quality Development", which clearly proposed "vigorously supporting Shijiazhuang to vigorously develop higher education.
