Shijiazhuang Vocational College of Science and Technology is a full-time general college approved by the People's Government of Hebei Province and registered by the Ministry of Education of China. According to the national plan, the college enrolls students nationwide (national standard code: 14213) and enrolls students who have passed the national college entrance examination. In August 2007, the first "Confucius Institute" in Hebei Province's colleges and universities was established in the United States---Confucius Institute of New Mexico State University. The college is located in the high-tech zone of the provincial capital, which is a national base for biochemical pharmaceuticals, machinery manufacturing, clothing production, and petroleum processing. The campus covers an area of 550 acres, with a building area of 200,000 square meters, 572 faculty and staff, 6 departments, and 34 majors.
