Sichuan Aerospace Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time general college approved by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education. It recruits students from all over the country. It is a model higher vocational college in Sichuan Province jointly built by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, the Sichuan Provincial Defense Science and Technology Office, and the Sichuan Aerospace Administration. The college is located in Longquanyi, a national-level Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone with aerospace technology and automobile industry as its pillar industries, and a new campus is built in Guanghan City, a famous ancient Shu cultural city, forming a "one school and two districts" school-running pattern. Relying on the advantageous resources of aerospace and inheriting the excellent culture of aerospace, the college has been listed as a national high-skilled talent training base, a national high-skilled talent training demonstration base, a national defense science and technology industry vocational education training base, a national electromechanical project high-skilled talent training base, a national vocational skills appraisal institute, and a high-skilled talent training center of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. It has been awarded the National Workers' Education and Training Demonstration Site by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. The college has established the first "Qian Xuesen Talent Cultivation Base" in the country, which is dedicated to cultivating craftsmen for aerospace military industry. The "Talent Base" consists of: Base Operation Guarantee Center, Aerospace Technology Skills Training Center, Aerospace Technology Skills Research and Development Center, and Aerospace Special Work Skills Inheritance Center. The college takes the road of open education, and has long-term cooperation with British Columbia Institute of Technology in Canada, Southwest Sydney TAFE College in Australia, Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore, Novosibirsk University of Technology in Russia, Shu-Te University of Technology in Taiwan, Gloucestershire College in the UK, etc., and sends professors and international students to each other for exchange and study; cooperates with Box Hill College in Australia to organize full-time unified enrollment logistics management and numerical control technology professional vocational education programs; cooperates with Cuneo Academy of Fine Arts in Italy to organize digital media application technology professional vocational education programs; and carries out cross-school "junior college to undergraduate" with Sichuan University of Light Industry and Xichang College, and cooperates with Sichuan University and Southwest University of Science and Technology to carry out junior college-undergraduate program. The college graduate employment rate reached more than 98%, and was rated as an advanced unit for employment of ordinary college graduates in Sichuan Province. The college has signed long-term employment agreements with China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, China Aviation Industry Corporation, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd., Intel (Products) Chengdu Co., Ltd. and other units, and has opened "Large Aircraft Class", "Volvo Class" and "Intel Class", implemented order training, and established a wide employment network and smooth employment channels. The college's talent training level has been fully recognized by the education authorities, superiors and the society. Leaders from the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation have visited the school for many times to inspect and guide the work. Sun Jiadong, winner of the National Highest Science and Technology Award and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, wrote an inscription for the college: "Carry forward the spirit of aerospace and cultivate outstanding talents." Space hero Yang Liwei wrote an inscription for the college: "Carry forward the spirit of manned space flight and cultivate outstanding aerospace talents."
