Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) is a new public research university with a high starting point and high positioning established in Shenzhen under the background of China's higher education reform and development. On February 14, 2022, the Ministry of Education and other three ministries announced the list of universities and disciplines under the second round of "Double First-Class" construction. Southern University of Science and Technology and its mathematics discipline were selected into the list of universities and disciplines under the "Double First-Class" construction.
