Southwestern University of Finance and Economics is a national key university under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education for the construction of the national "211 Project" and "985 Project" advantage discipline innovation platform, and is also one of the first batch of national "double first-class" construction universities. The school is located in Chengdu, a famous historical and cultural city in China, the "Land of Abundance", with two campuses, Guanghua and Liulin, covering an area of more than 2,300 acres. The campus is surrounded by lakes and willows, green grass and trees, and scholars are magnificent. It is a famous "garden-style college" and an ideal place for studying and studying. The school began with Guanghua University, which was founded in Shanghai in 1925. In 1938, the Chengdu branch of Guanghua University was established due to the relocation during the Anti-Japanese War. From 1952 to 1953, the financial and economic departments of 17 colleges and universities in the southwest were successively gathered to form Sichuan University of Finance and Economics, which was one of the four financial and economic colleges and universities in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China. After 1960, it was divided, merged, renamed, etc., and was restored to Sichuan University of Finance and Economics in 1978. In 1979, it was transferred from the Sichuan Provincial People's Government to the People's Bank of China, and gradually formed a unique financial industry background and outstanding financial discipline advantages. In 1985, it was renamed Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, and in 1997 it became a key university of the national "211 Project". In 2000, it was transferred to the management of the Ministry of Education as an independent system. In 2011, it became a university of the national "985 Project" advantage discipline innovation platform construction, and in 2017 it became a national "double first-class" construction university. The Huangpu Huanhua wind and rain are long, and the Guanghua Liulin composes a brilliant chapter. After the changes of the times with the surging river flow, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics has always shared the fate of the country and the nation, and has always progressed with the development of the times. It has been through wind and rain, forging ahead and surpassing, cultivating the university spirit of "serving the world and the people, and striving for excellence", laying the academic foundation of "openness, tolerance, truth-seeking and innovation", cultivating the pillars of "governing the country and contributing to society", and forging a historical monument of "promoting learning and serving the country, and taking responsibility for the nation". The school adheres to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implements the education policy of the Party and the State, adheres to the socialist direction of running schools, implements the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity, cultivates socialist builders and successors with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor, and cultivates outstanding talents in the field of finance and economics with social responsibility, innovative spirit and international vision, so as to promote the national economic and social development and the progress of human civilization. The school has 26 colleges (research institutes) and other teaching units, 42 undergraduate majors, and currently has more than 15,200 ordinary full-time undergraduates, more than 8,050 master's students, and more than 1,300 doctoral students. Since its establishment, the school has provided a large number of outstanding talents for the country's economic construction and social development, and has become an important base for the cultivation of high-level talents in the country's financial, economic, and management departments. In recent years, the rate of undergraduates studying at home and abroad has remained above 40%, and a large number of leaders in the financial industry have emerged among more than 200,000 alumni, and it is known as the "China Financial Talent Pool". The school has a number of teaching and research institutions with strong faculty, including the National Economics Talent Training Base, the National College Students' Cultural Quality Education Base, the National Law Education Practice Base, and the International Organization Talent Training Innovation Practice Project Base. It has 1 national teacher teaching development demonstration center, 3 national experimental teaching demonstration centers, and 25 national first-class professional construction sites. The Economist and Finance Science, sponsored by the school, were rated as national college social science journals and fine journals respectively; the English academic journal Financial Innovation, founded by the school, became the first academic journal in the financial field in China to be included in SSCI in the past decade; 4 textbooks including Accounting won the second prize of the first National Textbook Construction Award, and Professor Liu Shibai was named an advanced individual of the National Textbook Construction Award, and China Finance and China Fiscal Science were selected as the first batch of Chinese economics textbooks. It has a modern digital library with rich collections and is also the largest financial document center in the southwest region; it has the only currency museum in the southwest region, the Monetary and Financial Museum. The school continues to strengthen the strategic leadership of discipline development and strives to build a discipline ecological system with distinctive characteristics, outstanding advantages, reasonable structure and vitality. There are 9 first-level disciplines authorized to confer doctoral degrees, including theoretical economics, applied economics, business administration, statistics, law, sociology, management science and engineering, Marxist theory, and mathematics, 4 first-level disciplines authorized to confer master's degrees, and 19 professional degree categories; there are 4 national key disciplines, including finance, political economy, accounting, and statistics, and 5 provincial key first-level disciplines; there are 5 postdoctoral mobile stations in theoretical economics, applied economics, business administration, management science and engineering, and statistics. Applied economics has entered the ranks of world-class discipline construction, and 4 disciplines, including "Economics and Business", "General Theory of Social Sciences", "Engineering", and "Computer Science", have entered the top 1% of ESI disciplines worldwide. In the fifth round of discipline evaluation by the Ministry of Education, the school has made important progress and major breakthroughs. Business administration has passed the dual certification of EQUIS and China's high-quality MBA. It is the first school in mainland China to pass the dual certification of AACSB business and accounting. The school has deeply implemented the innovation-driven strategy, insisted on combining serving the country's major needs with the frontiers of disciplines, focused on major practical problems, strengthened applied research, and produced a large number of high-level research results. Approved as the first batch of "National Research Center for Socialist Political Economy with Chinese Characteristics" by the Central Propaganda Department, it has the "China Financial Research Center", a key research base for humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, the "Financial Security and Behavior Big Data Laboratory" of the Philosophy and Social Sciences Laboratory of the Ministry of Education, the "Financial Security Collaborative Innovation Center" of the Provincial and Ministerial Collaborative Innovation Center, and a number of high-level research institutions and high-end think tanks such as the "China Family Finance Survey and Research Center" and the "Western Finance Think Tank". The school continues to strengthen research on major theoretical and practical issues in national, industrial and regional economic and social development, and strives to build a national "Financial Think Tank" and a "Western Finance Think Tank". Continue to give play to the advantages of disciplines and talents, improve the quality and efficiency of cooperation and exchanges, actively serve the rural revitalization strategy, actively do a good job in counterpart assistance, and bravely shoulder the social responsibility of the university. The school has implemented the deep opening strategy in depth, and strengthened international exchanges and cooperation at a high level, in a wide range of fields and through multiple channels. It has been approved for 3 Sino-foreign cooperative education projects and 1 Sino-foreign cooperative education institution, and has been selected as the first batch of "High-level International Talent Training Innovation and Practice Base" bases and the first batch of "Study Abroad Quality Certification" pilot institutions in Sichuan. The "African Research Center" and "Bay of Bengal National Research Center" have been approved as country and regional research centers registered by the Ministry of Education. The Confucius Institute at the University of North Macedonia, S.C. Cyril and Methodius, and the first "Chengdu Base for the International Promotion of Chinese Language" in Sichuan have been established. The influence of the brand project Global Academy Summer International Academic Camp continues to grow. Foreign experts of the school have won the "Chinese Government Friendship Award" and "Tianfu Friendship Award" many times. We strive to benefit the world and the people.
