Suqian University is located in Suqian, which enjoys the reputation of "the best place in the world". As a product of the innovation of Jiangsu Province's higher education system, Suqian University and Suqian have been moving forward side by side and growing together on the road of reform and innovation. Driven by the provincial and municipal governments, the school has cooperated with eight provincial universities, including Soochow University, Yangzhou University, Jiangsu University, Nanjing University of Technology, Jiangsu Normal University, Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, Nanjing Institute of Technology, and Nanjing Normal University, to organize undergraduate education since 2002. By utilizing the high-quality resources of the eight universities, it has successfully become a university with 10,000 students in just a few years, achieving leapfrog development. In 2014, the school was approved by the Ministry of Education as an independent private ordinary undergraduate college. In 2018, the school passed the review of the Provincial Degree Office and became a bachelor's degree authorization unit. In 2020, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was transformed into a provincial public undergraduate university, starting a new journey of transformation and development. In 2023, the school successfully passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation of the Ministry of Education. The school currently has a land area of 889,000 square meters, more than 1.74 million paper books, 480,000 electronic books, and more than 1,000 Chinese and foreign periodicals.
