Suzhou Preschool Teachers College is a public college approved by the Ministry of Education. The school originated from the Suzhou Preschool Teachers College founded in 1976. It is located in Sihekou, Hushuguan Town, Wu County. It is the oldest school in the province that retains the name of "preschool teacher". In 1983, it was renamed Jiangsu Suzhou Preschool Teachers School. In 2005, it was affiliated with the former Jiangsu Education College and renamed Suzhou Higher Preschool Teachers School. It also added the name of Jiangsu Education College Suzhou Preschool Education Branch. In July 2014, the Provincial Department of Education agreed to prepare for the establishment of Suzhou Preschool Teachers College. In September 2015, the school moved from Shantang Street at the foot of Tiger Hill to the new campus on Huayuan Road by Yangcheng Lake. The school covers an area of 370 acres and a building area of 100,000 square meters. The campus is full of modern Jiangnan water town characteristics, with a spatial pattern integrating "water, bridge and pavilion", a combination of "black, white and gray" residential colors, an architectural style composed of "light, beautiful and elegant", and a cultural conception outlined by "emotion, interest and spirit". In January 2016, the Provincial People's Government agreed to establish Suzhou Preschool Teachers College. The school currently has 231 faculty members (including 67 affiliated kindergartens), including 164 in the Normal Department, 143 full-time teachers, including 11 senior teachers and 59 associate senior teachers, and associate senior teachers and above account for 48.95% of the full-time teachers. There are 125 people with a master's degree or above (including 22 doctoral students), accounting for 87.41% of the full-time teachers. There are more than 70 part-time teachers, mainly famous professors of universities, provincial special teachers, and municipal subject leaders. The school currently has 4 affiliated kindergartens: Huaduo Kindergarten, Education Kindergarten, Guxiangyuan Kindergarten, and Gaotie New City Experimental Kindergarten. There are many centers such as the library, performing arts center, performance center, international conference center, nanny training center, early childhood education center, and preschool education center. There are 22 preschool education professional training rooms such as children's simulation classrooms, construction rooms, nanny rooms, and children's life halls, 22 art and sports professional classrooms such as vocal classrooms, calligraphy classrooms, and art classrooms, 230 piano rooms, and 109 off-campus practice bases. The school holds high the banner of normal education, focuses on preschool education, and concentrates on reform and innovation. At present, it has opened four normal education majors in preschool education, early education, music education, and special education, and four non-normal education majors in infant and child care services and management, calligraphy and painting art, music performance, and visual communication design. The school takes "benevolent people love people, teachers are world models" as its school motto, pays attention to "two generations of teachers, jointly shaping", and closely focuses on the fundamental task of talent training. By building and improving the humanistic literacy cultivation system with teacher ethics as the core, and the practical education and teaching system with childcare ability as the core, it has embarked on a road of running schools that survives by quality and develops by characteristics. In the 11th provincial competition for basic teaching skills for normal students, the school has been among the best in the province. The passing rate of normal school graduates for teacher qualification certificates has reached 99%, far exceeding the average passing rate of normal school students in the province. The school has repeatedly won excellent results in various professional competitions and art and sports competitions such as the National Vocational College Professional Skills Competition and College Students' Art Performances. The school currently has one high-level professional group of higher vocational education in Jiangsu Province, the second prize of national teaching achievements, and three special prizes and first prizes for teaching achievements in Jiangsu Province. The school has opened diversified channels for academic advancement such as "transfer from junior college to undergraduate" and "transfer from junior college to undergraduate", and has jointly trained more than 5,000 people with bachelor's degrees or above.
