Suzhou Vocational College of Economics and Trade is a state-owned full-time general higher vocational college organized by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and affiliated to the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. The school is located in Suzhou, a historical and cultural city known as the "paradise on earth". It is located on the northern foot of Shangfang Mountain and the shore of Shihu Lake. It is a "high-level vocational school with Chinese characteristics in Jiangsu Province" with outstanding strength and distinctive characteristics. The school began with Suzhou Commercial School established in 1961 and Suzhou Silk Industry School established in 1984. In 2003, the two schools merged to form Suzhou Vocational College of Economics and Trade. The school covers an area of 820 acres, with a total fixed asset value of 1.087 billion yuan and a construction area of nearly 270,000 square meters. It has 8 secondary teaching units including the School of E-commerce and Logistics, the School of Textiles, Clothing and Art Media, and the School of Accounting and International Trade. There are more than 11,200 students on campus. The school follows the development concept of "people-oriented, local, professional, and intelligent", based on the development positioning of "focusing on smart enterprises, focusing on smart services, and achieving smart life", and strives to promote the development strategy of "strengthening the foundation, reaching the plateau, and occupying the peak", and various school-running indicators and comprehensive strength continue to improve.
