Taishan Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general college organized by the Tai'an Municipal People's Government. The college has always adhered to the school-running philosophy of "quality-based school, characteristic-based school, talent-based school, and culture-based school", and insisted on taking the development path of "industry-education integration, school-enterprise cooperation". In 2016, the college successfully passed the acceptance of Shandong Province's higher education characteristic colleges and obtained excellent grades. It was successfully selected as a pilot school for national teaching diagnosis and improvement, and became a pilot school for targeted training of non-commissioned officers. The first public training center of Tai'an City and Tai'an Entrepreneurship University settled in the college. The reconstruction of the Millennium Taishan Academy, the "College + Academy" academy-style education model, has set a precedent among similar colleges and universities in China. The college is located at the foot of Mount Tai, which is a world natural and cultural heritage and is known as the first of the Five Sacred Mountains. It is backed by Mount Tai's sightseeing avenue, Huanshan Road, and is adjacent to Fantawild Happy World and Fengshan Ceremony Tourist Area. It is close to the mountain and the city, with convenient transportation. The campus and Mount Tai are integrated and complement each other. It is a garden-like, ecological and humanized campus. The college covers an area of 655,000 square meters, with a construction area of 258,000 square meters and fixed assets of 380 million yuan. There are 98 experimental training rooms such as computer rooms, CNC machine tools, CAD, CAM, PLC, single-chip microcomputers, and jade carving processing centers. There are 3 training bases supported by the central government, 210 off-campus training and internship bases, 13 "factories in schools" and "schools in factories", and 17 order training classes. The college has a collection of 600,000 books, more than 2,000 kinds of periodicals, and an electronic book capacity of 1950G. There are 9 colleges and departments including mechanical and electrical, automotive and electrical, finance, architecture, biology, information, industrial art, tourism, and international exchange; 12 majors that are key supported by the central government, key construction majors of provincial famous schools, and provincial characteristic majors; 17 provincial quality courses. There are 492 faculty members, including 348 full-time teachers, 17 professors, 104 associate professors, 1 master's supervisor, 180 masters and doctors; 222 "dual-qualified" teachers, 38 National People's Congress representatives, Shandong Province's top ten outstanding young people, provincial outstanding teachers, municipal professional and technical top talents, municipal meritorious teachers, municipal chief technicians, etc., 2 provincial excellent teaching teams, and 3 provincial teaching masters. There are 13,000 full-time students. The college has 33 national invention patents, and has undertaken more than 200 scientific research projects at or above the municipal level, including one key project of the Ministry of Education; it has won 5 provincial teaching achievement awards, 7 provincial and above teaching and scientific research achievement awards, including 1 second prize for national teaching achievement, 1 first prize for provincial teaching achievement, 1 first prize for provincial outstanding scientific research achievement; and 1 provincial Taishan Literature and Art Award. The college actively carries out international exchanges and cooperation, continuously expands the space for internationalized education, and has signed cooperative education agreements with Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan and other countries or regions. In 2014, it began to cooperate with Australia to run two majors. Since September 2014, the college has selected outstanding students to study and exchange at Kunshan University of Science and Technology in Taiwan every semester. In September 2016, it selected international students to study at Sripatum University in Thailand. The college adheres to the principle of educating people and giving priority to moral education. Relying on the rich historical and cultural resources of Mount Tai, it strives to build a campus culture with Taishan characteristics that integrates traditional culture, Mount Tai culture, corporate culture, and university culture. It has formed a distinctive moral education model of "environmental education, management education, activity education, and cultural education", and has cultivated a large number of "Taishan vocational people" who are able to endure hardships and dare to take responsibility, and gradually established the Taishan brand image of higher vocational education.
