Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, formerly known as Beiyang Women's Normal School, was founded in 1906 by Mr. Fu Zengxiang, a famous modern educator. It is one of the earliest public institutions of higher learning in my country. In 1959, it developed into Hebei Academy of Fine Arts and became an independent higher art college. In 1980, it was officially named Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. It is a professional higher art college with complete disciplines and strong strength. It is one of the eight independent art colleges in my country and a national-level talent training model innovation experimental zone. The school adheres to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implements the Party's education policy, adheres to the socialist direction of running schools, adheres to the "four services", implements the fundamental task of cultivating people with morality, adheres to the school motto of "respecting morality and art, and working hard", and cultivates the school culture of "great art and great virtue", comprehensively deepens education and teaching reforms, accelerates the construction of first-class disciplines and first-class majors, and gradually forms an overall layout of "holding both ends and developing the middle", and builds a discipline and professional system of "four beams and eight pillars, one base and one top". The school currently has two campuses, Tianwei Road and Zhicheng Road, with a campus area of 117,700 square meters and a building area of 155,000 square meters. There are 22 undergraduate majors and 12 secondary colleges. There are more than 5,300 full-time students, including about 4,300 undergraduates and about 1,000 postgraduates. [Subject Majors] The school currently has two professional master's degree authorization points in Fine Arts and Calligraphy, and Design, and two academic master's degree authorization points in Art and Design. There are 12 national first-class undergraduate professional construction sites, 2 national characteristic majors, 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 national college student social practice base, 5 national first-class undergraduate courses, 4 national online demonstration courses, 1 Ministry of Education high-quality video open course, and 3 national planning textbooks; 2 Tianjin key disciplines, 2 Tianjin first-class discipline construction projects, the discipline of fine arts has been selected into the top discipline cultivation plan of Tianjin universities, and the results of the fifth round of national discipline evaluation and national professional degree level evaluation have jumped significantly; there is 1 Tianjin first-class undergraduate professional construction site, 5 Tianjin brand majors, 1 Tianjin strategic emerging industry related major, 5 Tianjin advantage and characteristic majors, and 6 Tianjin application-oriented majors; there are 14 Tianjin teaching teams and 14 Tianjin teaching masters; there are 11 Tianjin teaching achievement awards; there are 27 Tianjin first-class undergraduate course construction projects, 5 Tianjin high-quality courses, 3 Tianjin innovation and entrepreneurship characteristic demonstration courses, and 8 Tianjin planning textbooks; there is 1 Tianjin experimental teaching demonstration center. 【Research and Creation】Teachers have won hundreds of provincial and above scientific research and creation awards, including the China Art Award Lifetime Achievement Award, the China Calligraphy Lanting Award Lifetime Achievement Award, the China Plastic Performing Arts Lifetime Achievement Award, the Xiling Seal Society Lifetime Achievement Award, the National Art Exhibition Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards, the China Calligraphy Lanting Award, the Ministry of Education's Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award for Higher Education Institutions (Humanities and Social Sciences) and the Tianjin Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award. Approved for a number of national scientific research projects such as the National Social Science Fund Post-Funding Project, the National Social Science Fund Art Project, the National Art Fund Project, and the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences Project. Teachers' works have been selected for the "Don't Forget Your Original Intention and Keep Moving Forward-A Large-scale Art Creation Project to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China", the National Major Historical Theme Art Project, the National Meritorious Sculpture Creation Project, the Central Propaganda Department's Party History Theme Art Exhibition, the China Art Festival Outstanding Art Works Exhibition, and the China National Museum Exhibition Theme Creation Project. Teachers' works are collected by important exhibition halls such as the Chinese Communist Party History Exhibition Hall and the National Art Museum of China. Many exhibitions have been selected for the Ministry of Culture's National Art Museum Collection Boutique Exhibition Season Project, and have won many national art museum outstanding exhibition projects. 【Talent Training】Students have achieved outstanding results in many activities such as the National Art Exhibition, China International College Student Innovation Competition, "Chuang Qingchun" National College Student Entrepreneurship Competition, China-US Youth Maker Competition, China College Student New Media Creative Competition, National Digital Art Design Competition, Lishui International Photography Festival, Pingyao International Photography Exhibition, Beijing International Design Week, etc., and won more than 90 provincial and ministerial awards such as the first prize of the National Sixth College Student Art Exhibition Workshop and the national champion of the China-US Youth Maker Competition. In recent years, the implementation rate of graduates' initial employment has remained stable, and the overall satisfaction of employers with graduates is as high as 100%. 【Social Service】Completed the creative design of Tianjin floats for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the art exhibition of the Tianjin Summer Davos Forum, the design of the main torch tower for the 13th National Games of the People's Republic of China, the 10th National Games for the Disabled and the 7th Special Olympics, the art project of the Tianjin Hall of the Great Hall of the People, the art project of the Chinese Embassy in Bahrain, and the public art design project for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics. 【Faculty】The school has 500 faculty members and 291 full-time teachers, including 77 full-time teachers with doctoral degrees, 65 professors and 110 associate professors. There is one cultural celebrity and "four batches" talent from the Central Propaganda Department, one national young and middle-aged literary and artistic worker with both moral integrity and art, 14 experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, two experts with outstanding contributions in Tianjin, one specially-appointed professor in Tianjin, one first-level candidate in Tianjin's "131" innovative talent training project, 14 people in Tianjin's propaganda and culture "five batches" talent training project, 162 master's supervisors, and 6 doctoral supervisors. 【International Exchange】The school has signed cooperation agreements with 49 universities in 20 countries and regions in the world, and has reached a multi-level cooperation framework in the fields of teaching and scientific research. The school regularly publishes two professional newspapers and periodicals, "Northern Fine Arts" and "China Painting and Calligraphy News".
