Tianjin Industrial Vocational College is a public full-time general college approved by the Tianjin Municipal Government and registered by the Ministry of Education of China. It is also a demonstration college for improving the school-running level of higher vocational colleges in Tianjin, a college for improving the school-running capacity of higher vocational colleges in Tianjin, and a pilot college for the second batch of modern apprenticeship system in the country. The main campus of the college is located on the north side of the Yinhe Bridge of Beijing-Tianjin Highway in Beichen District, and the branch campus (Tiantian Campus) is located in Gengle Town, She County, Handan City, Hebei Province. The campus environment is elegant, the teaching facilities are complete and advanced, the accommodation conditions are clean and comfortable, and the sports venues are complete. The college has eight teaching departments (departments): the Department of Industrial Technology, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Department of Intelligent Technology, the Department of Economic Management Engineering, the Basic Course Department, the Ideological and Political Course Department, and the Sports Department. Our college has rigorous academic research and excellent school spirit. It takes the cultivation of high-skilled talents for the front line of production, construction, service and management as its educational goal, continuously promotes the reform of talent training mode, and steadily improves the teaching quality. In recent years, it has won many honorary titles such as "Municipal Advanced Unit for Education and Teaching Reform" and "Municipal Model Collective". The college has a teaching staff with teachers who graduated from famous universities across the country as the main body, including "experts enjoying special government allowances", "young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions", "national vocational college teaching teachers", "advanced individuals in science and technology innovation in Tianjin", "model teachers in Tianjin", "excellent teachers in Tianjin", "award-winning teachers in the National Vocational Skills Competition", etc. The college has a total of 367 in-service faculty members (including 76 in the Tiantie campus), and teachers with doctoral and master's degrees account for 50.3% of the total number of full-time teachers, and "double-qualified" and "double-quality" teachers account for 56.70% of the total number of faculty members. Teachers have undertaken more than 160 scientific research projects at all levels, published nearly 770 academic papers, and obtained more than 50 national utility model patents. Up to now, the college has 6,819 full-time junior college students and 137 secondary vocational students. In terms of professional construction, the college is employment-oriented, sets professional courses in response to the requirements of regional economic development, flexibly adjusts professional directions, and strengthens professional reform and construction. Based on the requirements of the occupational position group, the "teaching, learning, and doing" integrated teaching method is adopted, and the talent training model combining work and study is vigorously promoted, and the school-enterprise cooperation construction is carried out to enrich the connotation of professional teaching. In the professional construction, the five leading majors of ferrous metallurgy technology, mechatronics technology, electrical automation technology, accounting, and electronic information engineering technology are taken as the core to strengthen the construction of professional groups and highlight the characteristics. Do a good job in the construction of industrial robot technology, cloud computing technology and application majors and the high-quality professional groups with environmental engineering technology as the main body to connect with advantageous industry construction projects, and strive to form a professional cluster that conforms to the advantages and characteristics of "one base and three regions" and "five industries linkage". At present, the college has five major professional groups, covering 27 professional systems. The college has a campus network, closed-circuit television system and microcomputer teaching system with contemporary characteristics. The professional teaching training base of the college has a total of 96 training rooms (including laboratories and training workshops), with a total area of 12,657.90 square meters, a total of 2,314 sets of equipment in the training base, 3,055 actual workstations, and 889 training projects of various types; there are 10 off-campus training bases with an area of 15,000 square meters. In addition, the college is also a "Chemical Industry Vocational Skills Appraisal Training Base", "Metallurgical Industry Unique Vocational Skills Appraisal Station", "Tianjin National Vocational Skills Appraisal Institute No. 66", "Tianjin Technician Mobile Workstation", and "Tianjin High-skilled Talent Training Base". Promote quality education with a focus on innovative spirit and practical ability. The college actively responds to the "Belt and Road" initiative and builds a bridge for dialogue and communication with the world. In 2019, the college signed a letter of intent for cooperation with Elgon Uganda Technical College; signed a cooperation intention to build the "Luban Workshop" with Tiantang Group, a Chinese-funded enterprise in Uganda; and held a "cloud unveiling" and Luban Workshop was officially put into operation on December 10, 2020. The college focuses on the cultivation of students' comprehensive professional quality and practical skills. In the past two years, a total of 84 students from our college won the first, second and third prizes in the vocational skills competition of higher vocational colleges in Tianjin. Among them, 31 students were exempted from examination and entered undergraduate colleges for further study because of winning awards in the skills competition of higher vocational colleges in Tianjin. The college has set up college student scholarships and outstanding college student cadre scholarships to reward outstanding students with comprehensive development of morality, intelligence and physique. Students can apply for national scholarships, municipal government scholarships, philanthropy scholarships, Bai Fangli scholarships, etc. According to the spirit of the national documents on student loans, a green channel is opened for students in need to guide students to apply for student loans. The college provides work-study positions for poor students on campus. The college graduates have strong technical skills and high comprehensive quality, and are favored by employers. The college has established stable employment cooperation relationships with many top 100 companies such as Volkswagen Group, Qingdao Haier Group, Tianjin Electric Locomotive, and Tianjin Aerospace Hydraulics.
