【History】Tianjin Railway Vocational and Technical College was formerly known as Tianjin Railway Engineering School and Tianjin Railway Bureau Staff Training Center. Tianjin Railway Engineering School was founded in 1951 and is one of the first national key technical secondary schools and a national advanced unit of vocational education. From 1958 to 1962, it was restructured into Tianjin Railway College at the junior college level. Tianjin Railway Bureau Staff Training Center was merged in 2000 by the former Tianjin Railway Adult Technical Secondary School and Tianjin Railway Transport Technical School. Tianjin Railway Adult Technical Secondary School was founded in 1953 and is a national key adult professional school. It is recorded in UNESCO documents as "the representative of Chinese staff education". Tianjin Railway Transport Technical School was founded in 1986 and is one of the first national key technical schools. In September 2004, during the reform of separating the social functions of enterprises in the railway system, Tianjin Railway Engineering School and Tianjin Railway Bureau Staff Training Center were simultaneously transferred to Tianjin and were affiliated to Tianjin Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau (formerly Tianjin Municipal Labor and Social Security Bureau). In order to meet the needs of the development of the rail transit industry, Tianjin Railway Vocational and Technical College was established in December 2004 with the approval of the Tianjin Municipal People's Government. It was registered with the Ministry of Education in May 2005 and began to enroll students in the same year. In August 2005, the Tianjin Municipal Government approved the establishment of Tianjin Railway Vocational and Technical College. [Core Functions] The college is a full-time public general higher vocational college with rail transit as its specialty, approved by the Tianjin Municipal People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education. It cultivates technical and skilled talents for the development needs of production, construction, management and service front-line positions, and cultivates socialist builders and successors with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor. The college currently has the Railway Engineering College, Railway Transportation College, Railway Telecommunications College, Railway Power College, Railway Construction College, and Urban Rail Transit College, offering 30 majors including high-speed railway engineering technology, railway transportation operation management, EMU maintenance technology, railway communication and information technology, construction engineering technology, and urban rail transit vehicle technology. The main campus is located at No. 21, Jianchang Road, Hebei District, covering an area of 184.05 acres and a building area of 71,200 square meters; the South Campus is located at No. 232, Jinzhonghe Street, Hebei District, covering an area of 35.15 acres and a building area of 15,900 square meters. The college has 105 experimental training rooms and teaching instruments and equipment with a total value of 145 million yuan. [Teaching and Research] The college seizes the strategic opportunity of "coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei", takes the cultivation of high-quality workers as its mission, and establishes a talent training model of "relying on the industry, combining work and study, and guiding learning by post" to cultivate technical and skilled talents for building Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei on the track. 30 majors are offered. Among them, the high-speed railway engineering technology major was awarded the national demonstration major by the Ministry of Education, and 10 majors such as railway signal automatic control were identified as demonstration majors in Tianjin. To improve the level of school running, two undergraduate majors were opened in cooperation with Tianjin Sino-German University of Applied Sciences and Tianjin Vocational and Technical Normal University. The college keeps up with the development needs of the industry, actively adapts to the needs of the integrated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, and forms a new pattern of coordinated development of six major professional groups, led by two municipal high-level professional groups of railway signal automatic control and urban rail vehicle application technology. All majors of the Luban Workshop Iron Institute Center in Thailand and the Luban Workshop in Djibouti have been certified by the landing country. Continuously consolidate the connotation construction of Luban Workshop, and actively explore the landing of Chinese-style apprenticeship system and Chinese-style vocational skills appraisal system in the partner countries. The Luban Workshop Experience Center in Thailand continues to play a radiating and leading role. The college has reached cooperation agreements with five foreign universities, including the Royal University of Technology of Thailand, and has jointly carried out teacher training, skills training, and student training with many vocational colleges in Thailand and Southeast Asia, and jointly organized skills competitions, and its international influence has continued to increase. Participated in the Luban Workshop Achievement Exhibition of the First World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference and received high praise from domestic and foreign colleges and enterprises. Condensed the "4+2+1+1" Luban Workshop construction model, took the lead in establishing the Luban Workshop Industry-Education Integration Development Alliance, and took solid steps in exploring the sustainable development of the Luban Workshop. The college's Luban Workshop research project won the first prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award and the Tianjin Special Prize. Students from the Luban Workshop Railway Institute Center in Thailand won the first prize in Thailand's first railway transportation system competition.
