School Profile Tianjin Tianshi College was formerly Tianjin Tianshi Vocational and Technical College founded in 1999. In 2008, it was upgraded to a full-time private undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. It is the earliest private undergraduate college in Tianjin. In 2015, it successfully passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education. The school is invested and established by Tianshi Group. It is located on the banks of Longfeng River in Wuqing District, Tianjin, in the "Beijing-Tianjin Corridor". It covers an area of about 3.2 square kilometers and has a planned construction area of 2.1 million square meters. The overall design of the campus integrates the essence of traditional Chinese architectural culture and Western modern architectural concepts. It adopts first-class construction planning and standards. It is a modern, park-style university campus where the fragrance of books and garden landscape complement each other. The school always adheres to the fundamental task of cultivating morality and educating people, earnestly practices the sentiment of "education for the country" of Li Jinyuan, chairman of Tianshi Group, and upholds the school motto of "enlightenment, perfection, truth-seeking, and innovation". Taking "industry-education integration, science-education integration" as the starting point, the school vigorously develops school-enterprise cooperation to educate people, and has now developed into an applied university with "industry-university-research-innovation integration". 1. School Philosophy The school adheres to the OBE education philosophy of "student-centered, results-oriented, and reform-focused", focusing on the fundamental task of cultivating morality and educating people, taking first-class undergraduate majors and first-class curriculum construction as the leader, and relying on a double-qualified teaching staff team to keep up with the needs of economic and social development, constantly innovate the training model, and continuously improve the level and quality of talent training, scientific research, professional construction, social services, and school management, highlighting the basic abilities of talents to think independently, learn independently, communicate, do things, and be brave to innovate, aiming to cultivate high-quality, responsible, capable, and innovative compound application talents needed for China's future development. 2. Disciplines and majors The school focuses on undergraduate education, actively strives for graduate education, moderately carries out junior college education, and vigorously carries out international exchange and cooperation education. Discipline construction targets new technologies and new industries, takes new engineering as a starting point, promotes the coordinated development of science, engineering, economics, management, literature, and art, and builds a discipline and major ecological layout with medical health, food and medicine as the focus, economic management, art, and language as the expansion, and intelligence, automation, information, and big data as the leading. The school currently has 6 secondary colleges and 3 teaching departments, with 31 undergraduate majors and 5 junior college majors, covering six major disciplines of science, engineering, economics, management, literature, and art. The school has 3 first-class majors at the municipal level and 7 first-class courses at the municipal level. The current student population is nearly 12,000. In more than 20 years since its establishment, the school has trained tens of thousands of all kinds of application talents with comprehensive development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor, innovative spirit, and high quality for the society, and has been widely praised. 3. Faculty Tianjin Tianshi College adheres to the concept of "faculty is the foundation of a strong school", expands its global vision, and recruits talents from home and abroad. The school adheres to the principle of combining internal training and external introduction in the construction of the faculty team, improving the quality through internal training and improving the level through external introduction. While scientifically implementing internal quality measures such as mentoring, teacher training, and entrusted training plans, it has increased its efforts to hire industry elites such as first-line engineers to teach, and insisted on implementing the dual tutor system.
