The college was founded in 2004. It was formed by the merger of the former Zhemeng Normal School, Zhemeng Health School, Zhemeng Education College, and Inner Mongolia Radio and TV University Tongliao Branch. The school history began in 1951. In 2009, it passed the evaluation of higher vocational talent training by the Ministry of Education. It is now a model higher vocational college in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, a civilized campus, a safe campus, a garden-style unit in the autonomous region, and a high-level higher vocational school and professional group construction plan project unit at the autonomous region level. The college covers an area of more than 800 acres and a building area of 170,000 square meters. It has more than 400 experimental training sites and training bases inside and outside the school; fixed assets of 669 million yuan, teaching and scientific research equipment with a total value of nearly 158 million yuan, and a collection of 830,000 books; the total bandwidth of the campus network is 11G. The college has 38 internal institutions and three affiliated units: an affiliated hospital, an affiliated dental hospital, and a rural revitalization talent training center. There are more than 24,000 students of all nationalities, including more than 12,000 full-time students. The number of students has exceeded 4,000 for four consecutive years, and the implementation rate of graduates' destinations has remained stable at more than 90%. There are more than 800 faculty and staff, 278 teachers with postgraduate degrees or above, and 197 with associate senior titles or above; there is 1 national ideological and political backbone teacher, 9 autonomous region-level teaching masters, 8 teaching teams, 1 teacher teaching innovation team, 7 "May 1st" Labor Medals, 1 most beautiful teacher, and 1 model individual for national unity and progress. The college actively serves the development of local industries and builds majors on the industrial chain. It currently offers 32 higher vocational majors in 12 categories, including medicine and health, pharmaceuticals and food, education and sports, equipment manufacturing, electronic information, finance and trade, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, among which nursing, preschool education and pharmacy are the characteristic majors of the autonomous region. There are 37 online open courses, 12 high-quality online courses in the autonomous region, 5 textbooks for the autonomous region's "14th Five-Year Plan", and 29 school-based textbooks have been developed. It has won 2 first prizes and 2 second prizes for teaching achievements at the autonomous region level. In the past five years, teachers and students have won more than 350 honors at the autonomous region level or above. The college has been approved as a pilot for the autonomous region-level municipal industry-education consortium, the industry-education integration practice center, and the biomedicine industry-education integration community. It took the lead in establishing the "County Vocational Education Group" and the "Tongliao Vocational Education Alliance", and jointly built 10 industrial colleges with Neusoft Education, China Health Care Group, Tongliao Cultural Tourism Group, Kailu Biomedicine Development Zone, Holingol Public Training Center, Dalian Chunhe and other units. Carry out school-local strategic cooperation with 9 banners, counties, and cities, and reach cooperation with leading enterprises such as Haier Group, Meihua Biotechnology, Longma Heavy Industry, Jing'an Metal, and Liansheng New Energy. Jointly carry out talent training with more than 100 enterprises and institutions such as Tianjin Medical College, Ningbo Vocational and Technical College, China Nuclear Industry, Jilin FAW, Yatai Group, and Dabeinong Group. Participate in the development and formulation of Ethiopia's national vocational skill standards, and jointly train international medical and nursing talents with Mongolian Pharmaceutical University. The college is a national high-skilled talent training base, a training base for various industries such as the Eastern Center for Family Education Service Guidance in the Autonomous Region, and is the first batch of vocational skill level evaluation and certification institutions in the autonomous region. There are currently 37 training occupations and 31 certified occupations. Annually, more than 25,000 people of all kinds of talents are trained for the society, and more than 3,000 people are certified for vocational skill levels. Since its establishment, it has successively won the honorary titles of National Advanced Collective of the Education System, National Model Workers' Home, National Party Building Model Branch, National May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee, National College Graduate Grassroots Employment Excellence Award, Autonomous Region Science and Technology Innovation Leading College (Department), Autonomous Region National Unity and Progress Demonstration Unit, etc. It is currently the vice chairman unit of the China-Russia Vocational Education Alliance and the executive director unit of the China-Africa-Europe Traditional Chinese Medicine Luban Workshop Cooperation Community.
