Tongren Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time general higher vocational college established in June 2002 with the approval of the Guizhou Provincial People's Government. It is a "co-constructed" university by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the Guizhou Provincial People's Government. It is a national backbone higher vocational college, a national high-quality higher vocational college, a national "double high plan" project construction unit, and a national rural revitalization talent training high-quality school. The college currently has 14,437 full-time higher vocational students (including higher vocational expansion enrollment). There are 820 full-time teachers, 376 senior titles, and 421 masters and doctors. There is one Huang Danian-style teacher team in national universities, one national excellent teaching team, and one national teaching innovation team. There are national "Ten Thousand People Plan" teaching masters, national teaching and educating models, national advanced individuals in textbook construction, Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Outstanding Teacher Award, 1 national skill master, 6 provincial skill masters, and 4 provincial teaching masters. The college has 13 secondary schools (schools) including the College of Agriculture, the College of Pharmacy, the College of Medicine, the College of Nursing, the College of Engineering, the College of Economics and Management, the College of Information Engineering, the College of Humanities, the College of International Education, the College of Continuing Education, and Tongren Secondary Vocational School, Tongren Technical School, and Tongren Industrial School. It offers 25 higher vocational majors, including 5 national key majors, 1 high-level professional group, 5 provincial key majors, 3 characteristic key majors, 2 characteristic key professional groups, and 2 provincial key professional groups. The college has 22 high-level scientific research and innovation platforms at or above the provincial and ministerial levels, including the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Separation and Purification Technology of Ethnic Chinese Veterinary Drugs, the Postdoctoral Research Workstation, and the National Ethnic Affairs Commission's Key Open Laboratory for Ethnic Chinese Veterinary Drugs. There are 236 training sites, including ecological agricultural demonstration parks, open training bases for pharmacy and drug production, including 3 national open training bases. The college has established close cooperative relations with 176 companies such as Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and Wen's Group, and has jointly built 3 industrial colleges. The college has carried out in-depth cooperation with more than 10 domestic universities such as South-Central University for Nationalities, Dalian University for Nationalities, Guizhou University, and Guizhou Normal University, and has established inter-school exchanges and cooperation with more than 60 foreign universities such as Alante International University in the United States, National University of Transportation in Korea, Gangga Mada University in Indonesia, and University of Sabah in Malaysia.
