Turpan Vocational and Technical College is located in Gaochang District (Demonstration Zone) of Turpan City. It is a national public comprehensive full-time higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of the Autonomous Region and registered by the Ministry of Education. The college covers an area of 3,000 acres, 1,800 acres of which have been built and put into use, with a construction area of 260,000 square meters and a total investment of 560 million yuan. The college has 9 departments including the School of Marxism, School of Tourism Management, School of Modern Agriculture, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Information Engineering, School of Medical Nursing, School of Teachers, School of Continuing Education, and Department of Public Basic Teaching, forming a school-running pattern of 17 higher vocational majors, 18 secondary vocational (technician) majors, and 25 adult education majors. The college currently has 506 faculty and staff (36 senior titles, 196 intermediate titles, and 138 master's students); 13,725 students (9,847 full-time students <4,621 higher vocational students, 2,311 secondary vocational students, 2,915 technicians>, and 3,878 adult education students). In recent years, the quality of talent training has been continuously improved. The skills competition has won 2 national awards, 6 first prizes, 11 second prizes, and 36 third prizes at the autonomous region level. In particular, the total number of award-winning competitions in 2021 has increased three times compared with the previous year. The employment rate of graduates has continued to grow for three consecutive years, and the employment rate of graduates in 2021 reached 97%.
